Christmas Eve with the Hollomans

Every other year all of Matt's siblings celebrate Christmas with his family. Therefore, this Christmas Drew, Padgett and their three kids and Amy, Kip and their two were in town. So in all we had this age range of kids in Lolly and Pops house at one time: Lexi (8), Jase (8), Sloan (7), Abby (6), Katie (6), Hadley (5), Davis (3), Hudson (2), and Ellis (1). Wow! It was loud, crazy, and so much fun. The kids loved all seeing each other again and playing for 9 days straight. Hadley rarely wanted to stay at our house and just wanted to spend the night with her cousins. Sloan stayed over a couple nights and just about every day of the break consisted of late nights and early mornings. We were all exhausted by the end but it was just so much fun. This year, because of everybody's schedules, we celebrated Christmas with the Hollomans on Christmas Eve. With 9 kids all opening gifts at the same time and the amount of chaos I didn't get a ton of pictures but here are some I did get.

Hudson and Davis immediately started playing chase when we got there. I got this cute picture of Hudson so excited to be playing with so many other kids!

Time to open presents:

This is one of the few I got of Hadley. She was ALL over the place and I think I was able to watch her open only one or two gifts. She loved everything she got and was too excited to even stop for a picture.

This was Hudson's first year to be able to open presents by himself and he loved it. He would yell, "YAY!" as soon as he opened the gift and immediately had to play with it.

Lolly gets all the kids matching pajamas each year. This year the girls all got these cute red pajamas and the boys got blue surfer pajamas. Hadley needed to put hers on immediately:

Hudson loved his mini helicopter!

Playing with his new mat and matching Thomas the Train toys.

We got Davis a nerf gun and soon realized we should have gotten one for Hudson. He loved it and would walk up to people with a scowl on his face as he aimed it right at them. Thankfully, he isn't quite strong enough to release the trigger so everyone was spared some nerf balls in their heads!

Hitting daddy with the nerf gun is so much fun!!!

After getting home from Lolly and Pops' house we had many things to do to prepare for Santa's arrival. We put food out for the reindeer, made cookies for Santa, and put the key on the front door for Santa to get inside.

This is the moment Hadley realized it was finally here and Santa was coming TONIGHT! There was no talking her into going to sleep...she was up the stairs and in bed in about 2 minutes.

Hudson, on the other hand, was not worn out enough from the already eventful day and insisted on his typical movie before bedtime. As if 10:00 wasn't late enough he then got to watch about 15 minutes of the Polar Express before tucking into bed. We had such a great Christmas Eve with family and then got to continue it with our own traditions that evening. Absolutely, my very favorite time of year!!!
