January Pics

I get some of the best pics of Hadley when we are taking selfies! Just love being silly with her!

Hudson and his buddy, Will, pretending the piano dolly is a car. We had Will at our house all evening while his big brother was at the hospital for a broken pinkie! We had all been at sky zone playing dodge ball and somehow it hit Ben just right to really do a job on his finger!

A few other random pictures....

Going to a huge church means sometimes you have to walk a mile to get in the doors! We found this great little parking lot far from the church where a shuttle then takes you right to the door. The kids love it! And the bus driver always gives them candy as they climb out making it even better. Its usually pretty empty so we sit in the front but Hudson likes to sit all by himself in the back...

I picked Hudson up at school early one day because he had a tummy ache. Turns out he was just hungry (and maybe needed a little attention). I had placed a book on hold at the library for Hadley so we decided to make a fun afternoon of reading and playing games at the library.

Hadley got to go to a Thunder game with Katie, Pops, and Amy. She loved it!

Painting acorns with nailpolish. These came from our stash we collected at Aunt Jody's house for Christmas.

Science Museum fun with the Baker's over break.

Hudson is just a little bit crazy about Mixels right now. And the best part....he can totally put them together without any help. We have been using them as a reward for being good at school and he has really gotten a collection! He even knows all the little men's names and what series they are in.

Hadley had her first softball practice of the season and the little brothers were all happy to be together again too! Being a superhero is way more fun with friends to play with.

Hadley got to listen to a speaker at school that taught them all kinds of fun tricks to do with string. She ended up buying some extra string and has been teaching them to Hudson over the last few days. And she especially likes to do tricks for anyone that comes over to the house.

Love this picture of our technology junkie right before bedtime...

Random Acts of Kindness project.

The second grade did a school project where the kids had to pick a Random act of Kindness to do for someone. Hadley came up with the idea to make bags of candy and hot chocolate and take them to Target. She would then hand out the candy to people unloading their groceries and ask if she could take their grocery carts back for them. We had to take pictures of her completing the project and then we make a posterboard explaining what she did. Everyone was so nice to her and very appreciative. She said she really loved this project and I had fun doing it with her. You can see in the last picture just how proud and excited she was to take it to school!

Hudson's SOLID yellow belt

Hudson has looked forward to this day for so long now! After a full year of giving his best effort it is finally time for him to test for his yellow belt. It was a struggle and I would definitely say he was a little bit borderline on passing but he practiced so much the week of and he did it. This is the first test that you have to do the forms completely on your own and it was a little bit stressful for a 5 year old. But I love to see the confidence he has gained in the last year and how good karate has been for him. Introducing our new yellow belt...

Christmas at Jody's

We celebrated Christmas at Jody's again this year and it was a fun get together for all of us. Hadley had a slumber party the night before and she was up until 2:30 so she passed out immediately when we got in the car. I think Hudson took the cue from her and though he didn't fall asleep, he at least rested on the way to Jody's house.

We had a fun time eating lunch, playing outside, opening presents, and enjoying each other. Jody was far too generous, as she always is, and she sure does love these kids! We love that she opens her house to each of us every Christmas!
