May Pics

Whenever Hadley has a friend spend the night Hudson gets to sleep in our room. These pics are on two seperate mornings but they make me laugh because Hudson sleeps just like his daddy! And he's a hard sleeper like his daddy too...

Hadley and Grace reading at Karate while waiting on their little brothers and a cute pic of Hadley playing softball with her daddy in the driveway.

Teacher appreciation gifts for the kids teachers. They gave a gift each day of the week but I just took a pic of this one because I love their hand-written notes. Inside the box were bath bombs (a new favorite of Hadleys!)

I volunteered at school to listen to bible verses and got to sit with Hadley while she read a book. After the bible verses were done we went to the gym for the last monthly assembly. The summer birthdays were celebrated and Hadley's face had so much joy as she ran up to the front of the gym! I LOVE seeing that smile at school....

I took Hadley to Target with me and before leaving she grabbed some money out of her piggy bank. As we walked around she asked to go look at something by herself. Of course, I still don't feel like I can let her walk around the store alone so I just stood back and pretended to be looking at books. She looked long and hard for a card for me for Mother's Day. She would pick one up, read it, and look for another. It will, by far, be my most special card from the kids so far! She even checked out all by herself in hopes that I would have no idea what she had just bought.

Eating at Cici's pizza after a volleyball game of Peytons and these kids each got some "Bubba Teeth"....

Mother's Day at church followed by some pool time at Ryan's house. I could NOT be more blessed by these amazing two kids! And I will forever be grateful to Matt for being my partner in raising them.

This is such a special picture to me! Mainly because I will never forget the hard work that went into it. A little back story...Each quarter Crossings students are given an AR goal to meet. This comes by reading a book and taking a test. Based on the level of difficulty and the length of the book a certain number of points is given. Hadley's first quarter she was assigned 6 points, then 13, then 14, and then the last quarter she was assigned 25!!! This was going to be a super hard goal for Hadley to reach and one of the very highest in the class. Hadley has become a great reader but I still felt this was very high for her and it may have been a mistake. But instead of asking the teacher about it, Hadley and I had a talk about how we would work really hard and that her daddy and I were confident she could get it done. There was a big party for anyone who reached their goal and we had a few tears at times when she thought she would miss it. But she never procrastinated, she read every single day, she tested as often as she could, and she finished with 25.2 points and a 92.5% average a few days early. I get an email every time Hadley takes a test and I cried when I got the results because I knew how hard she had worked. I am so proud of her good attitude the entire time and for giving it her very best!

Just a few cute pictures of the kids...

Matt took Hudson to Dick's and they came home with a fishing pole. There were training lures and Matt sent me this pic of Hudson getting some practice while I was at a birthday party with Hadley. Then the next morning he was at it again practicing in the backyard. Later that day (after some rain had passed through) Matt took him to a pond in the neighborhood where he caught his very first fish! He was so proud!!!

Hadley's sweet friend, Clara, asked Hadley and their friends to come watch her in her first gymnastics meet. Thankfully, we didn't have anything going on and Hadley and I drove to Metro Gymnastics to watch her. Clara did awesome and seemed so happy to have a friend come watch her do what she loves  to do most!

Hadley, Lottie, and Kate at a Braums stop before spending the night at our house. Hudson likes to jump in on the fun too and they are so patient with him...most of the time!

Fresh haircut and waiting for Karate to start. I never can get over this sweet (and even silly) face. The fact that he smiles anytime you even look at him will completely brighten any day.

My last time to eat lunch with Hadley as a 2nd grader. This is such a great group of girls and I will miss them all being in class together. Unfortunately, Crossings made a mistake by putting a bunch of super social girls together and I am pretty sure they will be split up next year!

All smiles and a little silliness....

Working on their dental hygiene and trying to learn how to floss...

Roman festival at school. I had to work but got a super cute picture from a friend at the festival.

Playtime at the park and outside as it warms up, pop's 70th b-day, and taking long works. Its a sign that summer is almost here!

Basketball with Daddy

Just barely over a year ago Hudson had very little interest in sports. I think he has gained so much more confidence as well as learned that its ok to not be the best at something and he has become much more willing to get out and practice! And he pretty much loves to do anything as long as its with his Daddy! I caught them playing basketball today and got some cute pictures of him playing AND "beating" his daddy. He may have gotten a little more confident and now we might want to work on being a humble winner!  :)
