March Pictures

Hudson got invited to Ben's 10th birthday party at laser tag and he thought it was pretty awesome to be with the big boys!

Hadley has missed Mary Beth being at Crossings so it was a fun surprise when her second grade teacher, Mrs. Thornton, came to get her out of class and Mary Beth was standing there. She has a longer Spring Break than Crossings and she came up to school to visit some old friends. She got to pick a few to go have lunch with in Mrs. Thornton's classroom.

Hadley looking so old while eating on the couch while Hudson and Will look so young sitting right beside each other on the couch. Hudson got to have Will spend the night and they had the best time together. These two seriously never fight and love each other so much! They are both so selfless with each other.

And finally, some pool progress pics. Our pool got started on March 15th while we were out of town on the cruise and we had some major changes in our backyard over the last couple weeks!

We left for the trip with the backyard looking like this....

And came home 1 week later to this...

Over the next 13 days this all happened! So far, so good.

Moving on up...to 1 green tip!

Another test in the books! Hudson has done such a great job with his focus lately and he is moving up in his belt progression. It has gotten much harder for him and there is now so much to know but he is really doing such a great job. He wants so badly to be a black belt someday and though it will be several years before that happens, I do believe he can get there if the interest continues. We now have to practice outside of class and he has moved up with several of the older kids. Really proud of him!

Sweet Bauer

Bentley has been extremely difficult while building this pool. He wants to go in and out ALL the time and we have no fence so every time he scratches I have to take him out front on the leash so he won't keep scratching. He also wakes up at 4:30 every day and I don't love walking him that early in the morning when it's still so dark. THANKFULLY, Mama and Papa offered to keep him for several weeks while we finish the pool. It will help us tremendously! So he has gone to their house and now I just have Bauer to walk. I have actually loved every minute of walking him. It takes a little more time getting ready in the mornings because I have to work that in but he has become such an easy dog on the leash and I love watching him get so excited each day. He is such a sweet dog.

I took a few pictures of him after one of our walks. He is a beautiful boxer...even with all that gray he is getting around his face. I sure hope we have several more years with him!

D-Bat tournament (1st of the season)

Our first tournament of our second season of kid pitch. The kids have improved tremendously and I'm so anxious to see how we compete against the teams this year. We got our new uniforms in and I love them. They definitely look more grown up than before!

It was a cold start. We were all bundled up and even with blankets, hand warmers, and hats we were still cold. The girls were champs in the freezing weather and played really well. We won 2 and lost one during the day. Then we had a break for a bit.

And then it got crazy. The games were running really far behind and we ended up playing 11pm! I don't think Hadley is ever up that late. Emmy had come back to our house to hang out for a bit and we stopped at OnCue on the way back to the fields to get a little sugar in their bodies. These girls were deliriously excited. They were running around like crazy and so ready to play.

They ended up having one of the best games they have ever played and we won the game to keep us in the winners bracket. They were all so excited...and this also meant we wouldn't have to be out there as early the next morning. Hadley passed out in the jeep the second we started driving out of the parking lot.

Its an early morning, sleepy eyes. Hadley was asleep so hard we had just carried her back to our room, took off her clothes, and she slept in our bed.

Day 2. We had a great 1st game, won it, and had a break between games so we all went to Fuzzy's for lunch. I think it was definitely the highlight of the girls tournament. They had so much fun eating as a team!

Much warmer today and we got to ride back with the top off the jeep. Hudson rode with Kristin and Brian while Story rode back with us.

Hudson looked so cute sitting by the fields and watching the girls warm up for their game. We were only a couple away from the championship and everyone was getting pretty excited.

Late once again! Long story but we had potentially two games left. If we won the first one we would be playing in the championship game. If we lost the first one we would get third. Well, the team we were supposed to play forfeited so it sent us straight to the championship game. We played against Impact which we kind-of consider our sister team. We scrimmage them a lot and we will pick up each others players if we need them for a tournament. We ended up winning the game and the championship. It was so much fun! We played at 10:30 on a school night and it didn't even phase the girls! They were so happy to win their first tournament of the season and take home a trophy.

Hadley had such an incredible tournament. She isn't doing her best hitting but her defense is incredible. She stops hard line drives that I think 90% of girls her age would never be able to stop. She just has no fear of the ball or getting hurt. She had a rought first game of hitting but in the 2nd game alone she had 1 hit, 1 RBI, threw out two girls at first, and ended the game by tagging a girl out at 2nd on a steal.  In the very game she caught TWO pop flys and got another out on a grounder.  There are games where she doesn't get a ton of balls but this tournament was so fun to let her show us what she was capable of. But more than seeing how well she is playing, I love seeing how happy she gets and how big of a smile she has when she makes a big play. She is so much fun to watch!

Tomorrow morning is going to come really early.
