September favorites

Just some more of my favorites:

Hadley was watching some morning cartoons and Hudson decided to take a seat in her lap. Sweet sister never gets annoyed by him and was just so excited that he wanted to sit with her.

I usually try to find something for Hadley to do when I take Hudson up for a nap because sometimes I am upstairs for about 15 minutes. I like to read books to him, sing a couple songs, and then lay him down and Hadley is so good at entertaining herself while I do so. This particular day she must have been extra tired because when I came back downstairs I found her asleep like this:

All dressed for school picture day.

We went to watch Lexi play in her softball game and there were plenty of kids for Hadley and Hudson to play with. There are only a few girl siblings on the team but there is no shortage of boys. Hudson, who spends much time in my arms, was quick to jump down and join all the big boys. He tried so hard to keep up even though he was the youngest. It was so fun watching him chase them all around and mimick everything they did. He is in the light blue shirt.

And just because I always brag about how well Hadley and Hudson get along I decided to include this picture. They really do hardly fight (thanks to Hadley). Hudson takes out his agression on Hadley and she is always so patient with him. But he also loves on her all the time and is her little shadow, wanting to do everything she does. Anyway, this picture was taken moments after Hudson hit Hadley. She started crying and I told him to go sit in timeout. Obviously, not the reaction he was going for and he quickly turned on the crying as well.  What I should have taken a picture of was him leaning over to kiss her and hug her so he wouldn't be in trouble anymore.

Hudson still loves his baby cousin and wants to hold him everytime we see him!

One of the many times Hudson is mimicking Hadley. She loves it and purposely will do something and say, "Hudson, see if you can do this."

Riding their cars in the field next to our house.

We spent the morning at the park and I asked for the kids to smile for a picture. These are the two I got.  Hudson wouldn't look away from his bag of goldfish and Hadley thought being goofy was more fun!

Ryan sent me a picture of Buck's first time swinging. I think he likes it! He is such a cute, happy baby.

Hadley wanted to wear her "Go Pokes" outfit to school one day. She was so excited when she got out of the car at school and her teacher told her how much she loved her clothes. She could NOT believe her teacher was a Cowboys fan TOO!

Powered sugar doughnuts and cartoons in the morning. Hudson's in heaven! I love this picture and how he just looks annoyed that I am interupting his TV watching.

The kiddos in their Thunder clothes. Cutest thunder fans ever!

Hadley and Hudson love playing with his new drumset from his birthday. I love when they play together which is happening much more often now.

Sweet baby boy. This is before I had to wake him up from a nap so we could get to Hadley's dance class. Sometimes I just have to stare at him for a few minutes before waking him.

OSU vs. TX game

Hadley, Matt, and I went to the OSU/TX game and despite the loss, we had a great time. Hadley was so excited to get to go to another game and was even more excited that her cousins, Abby and Katie, were in town and would be at the game as well. Although we can't wait for Hudson to come to games with us someday, he is still just a little young (especially for a 6:30 game) and he stayed with Mama and Papa. Hadley had a long day! She had a birthday party at 12 and Matt picked us up from the party to head straight to Stillwater. We had to visit a couple tailgates before the game and then didn't get home until midnight. Hadley was such a trooper and thankfully took a nap in the car on the way to Stillwater.

First tailgate stop was to see Story. They did cheers, ran around the parking lot, and collected plates of rocks while we ate fajitas from the grill.

And the second tailgate was to visit the Greens and meet up with the rest of the Holloman family. Hadley and Banks (one of E's long time friends son) loved bouncing the ball back and forth. He is such a sweet boy and Hadley loved having another kid to play with until Abby and Katie got there to join them.

Abby and Katie are here and joined in on the game. These four were all so excited to see each other.

Four kiddos posing and ready to head into the game.

Getting their tattoos from Aunt E.

While walking to the tailgates we looked through the fence and saw the cheerleaders practicing. Hadley squatted down on the ground and watched them until we finally made her get up and come with us. The cheerleaders are definitely her favorite part of the game!

Cutest Cowgirl!

Inside the stadium. It is SO nice being in the club level and makes it much more enjoyable with kids. At least they can run around not get so antsy watching a 4+ hour game. It also helps that they get to enjoy an endless supply of candy, chips, cookies, popcorn, and cokes! Of course, any kid would love going to the games...

Poor Abby and Katie have a Texas fan Daddy and OSU fan Mommy and although they had on their OSU gear they were very torn on who to cheer for. Everytime OSU would have a good play Katie was very concerned that her daddy was upset. Unfortunately, for us, their daddy went home the happy one.

The things I will do for my husband and kids! Never thought I would see myself in these colors (except for Halloween) and my hands doing this gesture. But it was such a fun night and I anticipate many more OSU games in my future!

End of the fourth quarter and Hadley was winding down. We didn't sit in our seats and sat towards the end zone where few people have tickets so the kids could run around more. At one point I looked over and Hadley had decided to make a little bed for herself.

Even with OSU's unfortunate loss, we still had a great time. Hadley asks daily when we can go again so it may be hard to go to any games without her now. Daddy has a new football buddy!

First Knight Walk

Hadley had her first school fundraiser. It is called Knight Walk. A couple weeks before the event the kids raise money (similar to a walk-a-thon) and then on Friday they walk as a school around the different buildings and school campus. The preschoolers are paired up with a 6th grader and Hadley thought it was pretty awesome to hang out with a 6th grader all day! Friday evening there is a big carnival for the school with facepaint, tattoos, bounce houses, hair paint, and many carnival games. We ate dinner at the school and it was super chaotic! I do not know where my head was and didn't even think about Hadley needing to wear her Knight Walk t-shirt. As we were walking out the door Matt even mentioned it and I said, "Oh, I don't think they wear them." Sure enough, we walk into the school into a sea of red t-shirts. Thankfully, Hadley thought everyone would just love to see her Rapunzel shirt and it didn't bother her a bit. I have to say it also made her a little easier to keep up with!

Hadley getting her hair "painted." It was fun convincing her to take a bath that night when we got home!

I didn't really take many pictures but here is one of Hadley and Peyton dancing on the bleachers and watching all the other kids.

Eating dinner with Ryan and Peyton.

The Great State Fair of Oklahoma

Last year was Hadley's first trip to the fair and she loved it. We saw Toy Story on ice and it was so cold and rainy that we mostly stayed indoors. We were excited for another fair day this year and happy Hudson was old enough to come along as well. LaNeale and I bought tickets for Disney on Ice again but with a princess theme we decided we would just take the girls and Matt and Chris could ride some more rides with the boys and then head home when everyone got tired. Unfortunately, timing didn't work quite right and we needed to leave right about the time Hudson was taking a nap. My parents offered to bring Hudson to us when he woke up so Matt, Hadley, and I jumped in the car and headed to the fairgrounds. Only minutes into the car ride and we had another sleepy child. The fact that she got a decent nap is the only reason I wasn't going insane sitting in standstill traffic for about 30 minutes. This should have been our first clue that it was going to be PACKED at the fair today!

We got there a little bit before the Robertsons so Hadley and Daddy jumped on the racetrack. Hadley was really wishing she could drive the car by herself but you can see that she could barely see over the front of the car. And she was a little upset that they didn't get the "go Pokes" car but the yellow one got the job done and they came in first. She was so excited they won the race!

Yes, it was extremely crowded!!! More than I even imagined. I guess thats what you get for picking a perfect Sunday to go to the fair. We quickly decided that Hudson would NOT have a lot of fun in the crowds and having to wait in the ridiculous lines so we called my mom and dad and asked them to keep him a little longer and we would make his first fair trip next year.

Hadley's first ride was on the Frog Hopper. She had this great, big smile as it took her all the way to the top and slowly dropped her back down. Hadley really has no fear and was more upset that she wasn't able to ride ALL the rides because she wasn't tall enough.

Making our way through the crowds on Daddy's shoulders. There was one point where I had to walk off and go meet LaNeale and it was a HUGE mistake. Our cell phones got absolutely no service and Matt and Hadley were nowhere to be found. I looked for them for about 20 minutes before I just happened to walk right by them looking for me. What are the chances of that? We made sure not to lose sight of each other again!

The girls on the Ferris Wheel. They were so excited to get all the way to the top and look at all the rides and people. I, on the other hand, was content keeping my eyes inside the ride.

Love these sweet girls so much!!! And I love not even having to ask Hadley to smile. She was grinning from ear to ear all day.

Wow! Don't use the Iphone camera (with the flash on) in a dark room. Kinda scary pic but you can at least you can see how excited Hadley was for Disney on Ice. Before we went in Hadley and Holland got to walk around the lobby and pick out a couple snacks. A sno-cone for each and a box of popcorn to share did the trick!

Despite the crowds, we had a great time at the fair. Not so much for Matt and I but mainly because it is so much fun to see such joy on your child's face. Hadley was so appreciative of her day at the fair and told us many times how much fun she was having. We (or she) can't wait to go next year and show Hudson all the rides. We just may pick a weekday to go instead...
