Mr. Mischief

I have said many times before...we have to keep our eyes on this kid AT ALL TIMES!

Hudson, like all boys I am sure, loves to get into anything and everything. And if we dare tell him "no," it makes him want it that much more. Here are just a few pictures of some daily battles:

We created this first problem. When Hudson was not so mobile he loved to play on the counter. It kept him happy and passed time during fussy moments. Well, he has now discovered the faucet and screams to play in the water. He would take a cup and fill it up and dump it out for hours if we let him. One may think this is not a big deal until you realize that we cannot even walk by our kitchen island without a fit to get on the counter and an even longer fit when it doesn't happen.

Playing in the dogfood (and sometimes eating it). Hudson's favorite time of day is when we take him outside to feed the dogs. He also loves giving them treats and putting them in their kennels.
I will put Hudson on the counter with me while I do my makeup. Hadley was in the bathroom with us the other day and I turned around (with my hand on his back) to talk to Hadley for literally 1 minute and turned back around to this. Hudson decided to try on my eyeliner.
Eating crayons...
Our newest discovery. It is REALLY fun for Hudson (and really not fun for mommy and daddy) to throw anything and everything over our balcony. As long as he doesn't hurl himself, Hadley, or the dogs over I think we will survive the extra trips up the stairs to put everything back in drawers.

Rapunzel gets her hair cut

We finally talked Hadley into cutting her hair. However, she showed us exactly how much and it was about 2-3 inches. Seems like a fair amount until you consider her hair was already almost to her waist. Other than it being much healthier and easier to comb out you can't tell much difference. Thanks to Rapunzel, we may have really long hair for a long time!

First time to have her hair washed in the sink:

Fresh out of the bath! I would give anything for her beautiful hair. I think mommy wants her to keep it long as much as she does.

I shot my first gun!

I went to the gun range for the first time with Matt, my dad, my brother, and Lisa. Matt is getting a gun for protection and HE thought it would be a good idea for me to learn how to shoot it. I had zero desire to ever shoot a gun but decided he may be right. I also have heard people say how much fun the gun range is so I thought maybe I would enjoy tagging along.

First time...and a little shaky.

Matt loved it, although I am not sure any guy doesn't.

Even baby Adams got some target practice... and a little bit of hearing loss. Lisa actually checked with her Dr. to make sure it would be ok. I had always heard it was loud but never really anticipated it being THIS loud.

My dad owns a big daddy gun that they finally talked me into shooting. This resulted in me being thrown backwards against the wall (maybe I am being a little dramatic but it felt that way).
So it was fun. I am not sure my nerves ever calmed down since there were about 20 people all in this small section of the range and guns were being handled and passed around everywhere! Of course, they are not supposed to be loaded until you are against the rail and ready to shoot but I just don't really trust anyone. So I spent half the time nervously checking everybody out. I am, however, ready to go back and try it again.

Just because

it may be the cutest picture EVER! Hadley and Hudson were watching a movie in the media room and he curled right up into her lap.

FULL of joy!

While at the lake, Hadley overheard me telling my mom that she never wants me to take her picture anymore. She immediately jumped up and said, "I really want you to take pictures of me, Mommy!"

So we went outside and took some pictures of our beautiful 4 1/2 year old. The pictures show just how joyous this little girl is. She loves to laugh, smile, and just be happy. She makes me so proud daily.

A few facts:
-34 pounds
-likes: icecream, orange juice, laughing cow cheese, granola cereal, hotdogs, mustard, playing outside, playing pretend, dressing like her bitty baby, dresses, wearing jewelry, board games, reading books, shoes, playing with Hudson, getting her back tickled, cuddling, playing hide-and-seek, rapunzel, strawberry shortcake, coloring, school, going to bed, and changing outfits 500 times a day
-dislikes: pasta, mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, being hot, telling us bye when we go to work, wearing pajamas (she wants to just sleep in panties), sitting still, getting her hair brushed (although she wants it SO long), not being able to wear summer dresses and sandals all year long.

A little hopscotch:

And finally, a picture is worth a thousand words!!!

Adams Family Christmas...

...three weeks later.

My dad's mom and sister live in Eufaula and his brother lives here in Okc so we always celebrate Christmas at my parents lake house in Shawnee as a easy meeting point for everyone. With two firemen (on different crews) in the family it always tends to be well after Christmas before we can find a weekend that works for everybody.

As always, we had way too much food but lots of fun. It was a wonderful day in the high 60's and the kids loved playing outside. Hudson is getting used to all the commotion by now and enjoyed making everybody laugh and acting silly. Hadley just wants to play all day, everyday and loved getting even more presents so long after Christmas.

We got to the lake a few hours before everybody else so that Hudson could get a nap and Hadley enjoyed all the extra attention. We played outside and then she rested while Papa read her some books.

When Peyton arrived they were quick to set up a teaparty with real fruit snacks and Sprite. Anything goes at the lake, apparently...

Hudson had a hard time waking up from his nap and needed a little extra cuddle time with his Uncle Ryan. He laid like this for about 10 minutes which NEVER happens!
Awake and smiling now!

This is a water gun that blows a blast of water. Ryan was just blowing air in Hudson's face and he loved it (although you can't really tell here)!

Sweet Audrey is 6 months old and the easiest, happiest baby.
Hudson was mesmorized and watched her all day!
Such a hugger! He LOVES to hug any person smaller than him...over, and over, and over. Obviously, Audrey was not so thrilled...
Hadley was pretty excited about her Fancy Nancy books.

And I obviously have no reason to complain that Hudson has too much energy...

Looking like such a big boy!
Great-grandma and Papa
Playing outside:
Lots of smiles when we get to play outside in the middle of January.

LOVE this happy face!
