May pictures

After a busy month with so many blog posts I didn't have a bunch of left over pictures. But here are a few of my favorites...

Hudson with his sweet innocent face:

and Hadley being her typical, sweet self:

Cookies in the driveway while he didn't know I was watching. I love how he was savoring each bite and taking his time!

After getting home from Disneyland the kids were excited to see how much Baby Jake had grown...they insisted on helping feed him a bottle as well.

Lunch with Hadley on crazy hair day. It makes me a little sad that this is the last lunch for me to eat with her while she is in Kindergarten. Hudson loves visiting his sister and seeing her friends as well. And the girls LOVE Hudson. They all line up for hugs, take him all around the room, and hold his hand as we walk them down the hall to library after lunch.

Ice cream face and messy hair!

Hudson and Easton will be in the same grade at Crossings. Easton's sister, Emmy, is in Kindergarten with Hadley so I am sure we will be spending a lot of time with this family.

Hadley was pretty pumped about a week at school where she didn't have to wear uniforms!

We are going through a major change with this kid. Bedtime is no longer easy (actually it hasn't been for a while now). It usually consists of many books, lots of procrastinating, laying on the floor beside his crib, and insisting on me sleeping with him beside his crib. This works ok until about 2 or 3 in the morning when he wakes up, notices I'm not there, and screams until I come lay back down. As soon as we get back from Florida in a couple weeks we are going to transition him to a full size bed and hoping it helps. Lots of prayers for all this because bedtime has been pretty exhausting for us lately!

Pool days have begun

Our favorite time of year is finally here! Summer has started and we are anticipating a lot of time spent at the pool. One afternoon we went over to Jane and John's house to swim with the cousins. Kase and Hudson hung out most of the time in the hot tub and Kase encouraged Hudson to start wearing floaties. This was a big step for us and Hudson is doing great swimming with his floaties now and not needing us right by him.

Watermelon smiles in the pool!

Silly girls!

And finally out to our neighborhood pool. Obviously, we have some excited kids but Hudson's face says it all...

Heading to the pool one afternoon and Hudson insisted on taking his football and wearing his cowboy boots. He sure got a lot of compliments which I am sure will make him want to wear the boots every time now!

This little one has been in the sun only a handful of times and is already tan as can be. Wish we could all be so lucky to have that skin that tans so easily and never burns.

The Pfenningers and the Robertsons came to the pool with us one afternoon for all the kids to swim together. We all had lots of fun eating dinner together, playing in the water, and getting some Vitamin D!

Hudson gets so proud of himself when he swims all the way across the pool!

Stopping just long enough for a picture...

The jolly rancher popsicle is ALWAYS a hit!

Golf Camp

Hadley went to her first golf camp ever this week and she loved it. It got rained out the first day and so they played for 4 hours straight the next day. Somehow it didn't even wear her out and she was ready for more! She loved getting to play entire holes from beginning to end and it has really sparked her interest in golf. She is making much better contact with the ball and it hitting it pretty straight. Daddy is especially proud and so excited to play with her more often!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great weekend at the lake for Memorial Day. It was pretty low-key and we weren't even out on the water very much but it was nice just spending time with the family.

Hudson loves to "help" with Gunner and Gunner does a pretty good job tolerating it!

Best buddies:

Boat hair:

Mama got Hadley and Peyton matching pajamas. They played outside in them, rode in the boat, and waited for it to rain at one point. Unfortunately for our water levels, we didn't get enough to be worth talking about!

Tired kiddos watching tv and calming down before bed. Hudson was cracking me up laying in the doll baby bed and sweet Peyton let Hadley lay in her lap while rubbing her back.

Matt went home to take care of the dogs while I stayed overnight with the kids. I sent Matt this picture with a "Wish me luck!" message included. This was the first time for all three of us to sleep in bed together and I was just hoping we wouldn't be up playing in the middle of the night. Thankfully, they slept great other than waking up earlier than usual.

How cute are these cuddling kids in the morning?!?

After two full days at the lake we came home Sunday evening to rest before going to a Memorial Day party at the Fares' house. I would venture to say the kids were once again worn out by the lake!

On Memorial Day the Fares asked us to come to their house for a cookout with family and friends. We knew we would be meeting lots of new people so we made sure the kids were rested up after a day of swimming. Hudson wanted to get ready all by himself and I came out of the bathroom to see him dressed like this and ready to go...

Had it not been out first time meeting people combined with the fact it was 85 degrees and the costume was WAY too small, I probably would have just let him wear it.  But instead we compromised and I said he could pick out his own outfit as long as he wore regular clothes.  He quickly ran back upstairs and came down in this...

Tall dress socks with running shoes, a shirt and shorts that actually went together, and a rainbow loom necklace. If he only knew how in style he actually was! And he was so proud of himself that he even let me take a few pictures of him!

We had a great time at the cookout meeting lots of new adults and kids. A great way to wrap up the Memorial weekend!
