Early magic hour on our last day at the park was for Disneyland. We were pretty excited for the day because Hadley and Hudson still hadn't met Mickey or Minnie and we knew we would get to visit them in toon town today!
We started the day in the stroller, for their legs were still "tired" from yesterday! On the second day we contacted a stroller rental company to see if we could rent a double one for the remainder of the trip. This turned out to be a great decision as it allowed us to make it much longer without having to take breaks for the kids!
As soon as we entered Disneyland we went straight to Tomorrowland because it seemed to have the most Fast Pass rides. The kids had to stop at the Astro Orbitor swings as we first entered and after riding those Hadley really wanted to try out Space Mountain. You have to be 42" and since Hudson couldn't ride it Matt took him to ride Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters while we did Space Mountain. Matt took a couple pictures of Hudson loving this ride and they said it was one of their favorites! The picture of us on Space Mountain is a little deceiving...Hadley was actually giggling the entire time where I was about to wet my pants. I decided I like to see when I am about to go down a big drop on a rollercoaster rather than being surprised!
Next we rode Autopia and met up with Matt and Hudson. Surprisingly, we had heard good things about this ride but it was the most disappointing of all! It took a lot to even get a smile out of Hadley here...we had only been sitting on the track, broken down for the last 15 minutes.
After finishing up in Tomorrowland we stopped at Fantasyland to get pictures with Anna and Elsa. This is where we made our biggest mistake. By the time we got to the princess line-up the line was already 4.5 hours!!! Thankfully, Hadley was thrilled with princesses she had already met and it was fine with her to miss out on meeting the Frozen princesses. So from there we made our way to Mickey's Toontown where Mickey and Minnie have their houses. Goofy, Pluto, Donald, and Daffy live there as well. We went to Mickey's house first and were one of the first in line. We got to tour his house and then get his autograph. The pictures don't really show it but I think the kids were most excited about meeting him. Hudson jumped up and down the entire time because he was so happy!
One of my favorite pics from the trip!
Sitting in Mickey's car:
After meeting Mickey we walked over to Minnies house to get in line to see her. It was a little longer wait but not bad, even in 92 degree heat!
Waiting for their turn, standing in Minnie's front door.
Sitting at Minnie's kitchen table:
After meeting Minnie and Mickey we walked around the rest of Toon Town. Hudson grabbed Pluto's nose with a toy Matt had bought him, they rode in a firetruck, met Donald and Daffy, and saw the dental office. We rode a couple more rides and got a bite to eat. While we were resting and looking at the map of Disneyland we really decided we would rather spend the rest of the day in California Adventure because the kids seemed to enjoy it much more.
Back to California adventure where we rode a Monster's Inc ride and then watched Sofia the First, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, and Doc Mcstuffins perform in a show. It involved a lot of interaction with the kids and was such a cute show.
Hadley decided she really wanted to ride the tower of terror and insisted I ride it with her and daddy. We obviously survived but it sure did make all three of us scream! After a couple more rides we went over to the boardwalk for dinner. There was a band playing and the kids loved dancing around the boardwalk to the guys playing their songs.
We had finished up our day and were all sad the trip was so close to ending. Hudson was a little exhausted so everyone went back to the room while Hadley and I made our way down to Downtown disney for a little more shopping. Hadley found the jackpot of stuffed animals and stood at this wall for about 30 minutes deciding on her final stuffed animal for the trip. We ended up going home with three of these babies.
Then we stopped by the lego store for a couple pictures of their impressive lego creations.
And finally, we got one last churro on the way back to the room. I haven't mentioned the churros yet but I am postive we have spent close to $100 just on churros! They have all kinds of flavors and it was a perfect snack and pick-me-up when walking through the park. And a healthy snack, I'm sure!
Three days in the park seemed about perfect for our kids. We had fun with NO meltdowns! They are tired without being TOO tired. We saw just about everything we could and were able to ride all the rides they were big enough for. If only a heat wave had not rushed though on this last day in the park it would have been absolutely perfect! It definitely isn't typical for it to be above 90 degrees at Disneyland.
