Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great weekend at the lake for Memorial Day. It was pretty low-key and we weren't even out on the water very much but it was nice just spending time with the family.

Hudson loves to "help" with Gunner and Gunner does a pretty good job tolerating it!

Best buddies:

Boat hair:

Mama got Hadley and Peyton matching pajamas. They played outside in them, rode in the boat, and waited for it to rain at one point. Unfortunately for our water levels, we didn't get enough to be worth talking about!

Tired kiddos watching tv and calming down before bed. Hudson was cracking me up laying in the doll baby bed and sweet Peyton let Hadley lay in her lap while rubbing her back.

Matt went home to take care of the dogs while I stayed overnight with the kids. I sent Matt this picture with a "Wish me luck!" message included. This was the first time for all three of us to sleep in bed together and I was just hoping we wouldn't be up playing in the middle of the night. Thankfully, they slept great other than waking up earlier than usual.

How cute are these cuddling kids in the morning?!?

After two full days at the lake we came home Sunday evening to rest before going to a Memorial Day party at the Fares' house. I would venture to say the kids were once again worn out by the lake!

On Memorial Day the Fares asked us to come to their house for a cookout with family and friends. We knew we would be meeting lots of new people so we made sure the kids were rested up after a day of swimming. Hudson wanted to get ready all by himself and I came out of the bathroom to see him dressed like this and ready to go...

Had it not been out first time meeting people combined with the fact it was 85 degrees and the costume was WAY too small, I probably would have just let him wear it.  But instead we compromised and I said he could pick out his own outfit as long as he wore regular clothes.  He quickly ran back upstairs and came down in this...

Tall dress socks with running shoes, a shirt and shorts that actually went together, and a rainbow loom necklace. If he only knew how in style he actually was! And he was so proud of himself that he even let me take a few pictures of him!

We had a great time at the cookout meeting lots of new adults and kids. A great way to wrap up the Memorial weekend!
