September pics

Hadley got to lead the bible verse in Chapel today so I surprised her by coming to watch. It was so fun to watch her singing along with her friends and worshiping God during school hours. How thankful I am to have our kids at Crossings. Of course, I was sitting in a terrible spot to see her leading the bible verse but at least I got to be there!

Hudson loves his new chainsaw and goggles he got for his birthday. Unfortunately, he treats it more as a weapon and ends up chasing us all over the house...

This girl is doing such an amazing job at reading. She has gone from a 2.0 - 2.2 level reader to a 3.0-3.5 level reader. Basically, this means she is reading on a 3rd grade level. One of my very favorite things to do with her is lay on the bed and listen to her read me a book. I hope I never forget that sweet voice.

Hadley was at a friends house so Hudson and I had a little frozen yogurt date at Yogurtland.

In PE the school got a bunch of excercise balls and drumsticks to use for activity. They put them on top of laundry baskets and the kids learn a routine to go with a song (such as "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes") They do all sorts of lunges, squats, and jumps. All the parents were invited to watch the kids so we would understand what they were doing. It was a fun little performance.

Hadley has lots of boy-friends at school. She loves to play basketball with them and I'm sure she chases them as well. She was pretty excited to be one of two girls invited to Jack's party.

Sweet Hadley has never gotten in trouble in class. In fact, she has always been a teacher's favorite. So it was hard to get our first note home that Hadley had been talking in class and giggling during Bible class. We have always known Hadley was super social so I guess it may take some reminders on when its appropriate to be social! I was proud of Hadley for writing this apology note to Mrs. Thornton all on her own.

And then there is this letter....also written completely on her own and as sweet as can be. They are both so blessed to have each other.

Hadley's 5th year of dance has begun and this is Hadley and Lottie's fourth year to be together. They look pretty excited for another year!

Here is just a cute picture of Hudson watching tv and an even cuter picture of the kids cuddling in bed together. Still sleeping together every single night and not sure it will end any time soon. Hopefully not!

Hudson was having some one-on-one time with his daddy so I decided to surprise Hadley with dinner and ice cream with her two friends, Lottie and Reese. The girls chose Hideaway pizza and Orange Leaf for dessert. They had me giggling the whole time. Such sweet, good friends that love each other so much!

Here are a couple pictures of our newly turned 5-year-old. First, watching tv in his "car" with his kids in the seat next to him. Second, just reminding me he is 5 years old while we play a game of connect 4 on the floor. I can't get enough of that sweet smile.

We had the day off of school so I decided to take the kids to the Science Museum. Now that they have redone many sections, it has become a favorite choice. Here are a few pictures from our fun day. We ended up eating lunch there and playing ALL day. And to think we still didn't conquer everything.  There is a picture of Hadley standing by a newspaper and she was pretty excited to notice the date on the paper said "June 21st, 2015."

Some pictures of our little softball player warming up before a game.

I felt so creative this morning when I made the kids "teddy bear toast." That's until neither kid really even liked it. Hadley humored me by eating it and Hudson just looked and it and said, "Gross! The bananas are in the peanut butter."

Bring a friend week at Karate. Hudson couldn't wait to take his buddy, Will. And I think Will loved it too! They had such a good time and Hudson really liked showing him around. I thought it was so cute that Hudson had his arm around Will constantly.

Some pictures of us all being lazy...Hadley and Hudson sleeping together ( I will never get tired of this), Hudson and his buddy, and all of us on the couch. These are some of my favorites.

Hadley started a countdown to Seaside. We are ALL so excited to get away for a bit and head to the beach!

Enjoying some great, fall weather. We love coming home from school, changing clothes, and heading straight outside since we all know this weather won't last long enough.

Del City Softball tournament and Hudson's belt test

Our team decided to play one more softball tournament for the fall. It was supposed to be pretty great weather and the girls were excited. I, however, wasn't thrilled that I would miss the first game as I came home from a wedding in Dallas. Thankfully, one game is all I missed. They had lost the game but played great and Matt made sure and got me a couple good videos. When I got to the fields the kids were eating lunch and hanging out before the 3:00 game. This is, by far, always their favorite part.

Heading back in for game 2.

The girls loved picking out a few of these necklaces and Hadley was even sweet enough to buy Hadley one. Why can't I come up with something gimmicky that all the kids want to buy?!

I don't have very many pics from the games but a lot of videos! And I'm not even sure what we ended up placing but we played awesome. We got put in the hardest bracket which was pretty frustrating and of the top 3 teams we had to play 2 of them. It made us even more proud of how hard these girls tried.

After Hadley's last game it was time for us to head back to Edmond for Hudson's belt test. I was a little worried how this would go as he was really tired but he sucked it up and did great. He passed his test and earned his brown belt. He is really grasping the importance of moving on to the next belt and takes such pride in each one. We are definitely loving the influence Christian Karate Academy is having on him!
