June pictures

Thankfully, I'm finally finishing up the June posts after a crazy, busy month! But it sure was fun. We spent a lot of time outside, swam a lot, and I enjoyed all my time with the kids. Crazy to think summer is almost halfway over...

I took Hadley and Hudson to Toys R Us to pick out a baby pool so that they would have something to play in with Nox when Kristin babysat. Of course, we had to set it up that day and Hadley invited Lottie over to swim.

I told the kids to go get dressed for the pool and they came down dressed like this. What's even more funny than the outfits is the fact that they were totally serious!

Daddy still working with Hudson on learning to swim. He is doing such a great job and just about has it. Best of all...he loves the practice!

And with the all day activities of summer we had some down time too.

These pictures are from Will's superhero birthday party. He had a big waterslide, games for the kids, and lots of food. We love Will and his family! We also got kites as a party favor from his party and the kids wanted to fly them

Hadley and Hudson got a sticker book to decorate big faces for Christmas. After finishing all the pages they decided to use the rest of the stickers on their own faces. Hudson's is silly and Hadley's is slightly creepy!

Last softball game of the season and I got to take Lottie and Reese with me. Love these girls! And they are always great to pose for a picture. Hudson even joined in on the second one where they spelled "I love you" with their hands. Always entertaining!

Hadley and Hudson relaxing on the couch, a dinner date with Hadley at Tuckers, and Hudson helping cute one of the 3 canteloupe we go through each week. This has become Hudson's favorite fruit and the kid cannot get enough. He even has his own knife that he uses each time.

While Matt played in the Member/Guest golf tournament Hadley and Hudson decided we should go on adventure. We packed a lunch and planned on going to the pergola down the street to eat. But we found a string on the way there and decided to follow it and see if we could find where it ended. We probably walked about half a mile before finally finding the end of this string that was being used to mark a gas line. The kids were so excited to accomplish it and we even picked up a little helper along the way.

UNO has become a family favorite this summer. I love that we are all able to play board games and card games together now. It was such a fun memory for me growing up and I look forward to these times with my kids.

Rylie's birthday party had a fun karaoke machine for the kids and Hadley has decided she NEEDS one! While Hadley was at the party Hudson wanted to do a workout with his daddy. He even found an extra heartrate monitor to wear and put on his boxer briefs to match what daddy wears. I love to see how much he looks up to his daddy.

Learning to roller skate...first on the carpet and then moving on to the driveway. She's doing a great job at picking it up.

Three last pics of Hudson...the first one looking so grown up, the second one thinking he is so grown up and telling me "Mommy, I think I am getting hair in my armpit," and the third one reminding me that thankfully he is still little and loves to snuggle with stuffed animals.

Hadley's birthday party #2~

Only 3 days later and this girl is excited for another party. We planned a day at the lake with family and friends for Hadley's 2nd party. We drove down early Sunday morning to get everything ready before everyone started arriving at 1pm. And unfortunately, I let myself down by not getting any pictures of it all set up! Mama was so great in helping me for this party. She got everything ready for the hamburgers and hotdogs and she decorated the house with streamers, picture frames of hadley, candy, gumballs...it was so cute and I have no pictures of any of it! I didn't even remember to get a picture of Hadley's cookie cake so I only have the picture I took when I first picked it up. Oh well, its the memories that count!

Daddy, Papa, and Ryan got it all set up and we went down to the dock to "fish" for a minute. Hudson got a fishing pole about a week ago and has been dying to try it out. We didn't have any bait so we ended up just getting a little practice instead!

Afterwards we changed into our swimsuits and took a little boat ride before everyone arrived. We had to kill some time because the birthday girl was just TOO excited!

And then, everyone started arriving. We had quite a crowd. Mama, Papa, Lolly, Pops, E's family, Ryans family,  Pfenningers, Robertsons, Pruetts, Bests, Brooklyn, and Roman all came to celebrate the birthday girl! Papa grilled the hotdogs and hamburgers while everyone played.

As soon as everyone had arrived and eaten we all got on the boat for some tubing. All the kids were great at taking turns and everyone even wanted Hadley to go first since it was her birthday. We only decided we needed a few more boats for how many kids were there!

A couple hours of tubing later we came inside to open gifts and eat some cookie cake. Hadley got some great gifts...clothes, shopkins, workout clothes, shoes, new rollerskates, books, etc.

We finished eating cake and people were wearing out a bit. But before everyone left we had one more surprise....a waterballoon fight! We filled up 360 balloons, the girls got on one side and the boys on the other, and the fight began. It was so funny to watch little kids in a water balloon fight. Typically the balloons fell short of the person they were aiming for but at least they still got splashed with water. There were lots of laughs and screaming and it ended up being more fun than anticipated. I think the kids were a little disappointed when the balloons were gone!

The crew of girls jumping off the dock in celebration!

One more trip out on the water before everyone left. Hadley drove the boat, the kids tubed some more, and then Hudson fell asleep coming in from everyone tubing. Such a fun birthday and hopefully we will do it again soon. Happy 8th birthday, Hadley....again!
