Hadley's 8th Birthday and Father's day

Our precious Hadley Brooke turned 8 today! I can't believe how fast it has gone which I know I say every single year. She has looked forward to this day for quite some time and it was fun to watch how excited she was to fall asleep just so she could hurry and wake up! After she fell asleep Matt and I decorated her door for her to be able to bust though some streamers when she woke up. To say she was excited is an understatement. She was grinning ear to ear and her day had started perfectly.

We had the breakfast table all decorated with a birthday sign and all of Hadley's presents. She was so excited about each one and was even so sweet to let Hudson open some of the for her. She got lots of athletic gear, some gift cards, clothes, stuffed animals, and some little toys she has been collecting. One of her favorite presents had to have been the bike that Hudson wheeled out to her. She was pretty excited about a really "big kid" bike! I have a video of her getting it but not a picture so I just put a later picture of it.

After opening presents and enjoying her powdered sugar donut cake we went to church and then to lunch at Jason's Deli with Lolly and Pops. It was fun to celebrate Hadley's birthday and Father's day for Pops at the same time. We were able to tell Lolly and Pops all about Kanakuk and Hadley got some pretty earrings for her birthday.

We left lunch, went home to play with some presents, and then went over to Ryan and Lisa's house for a father's day cookout. We had hotdogs, bbq, and the kids swam in the pool and played with all the outdoor toys. Hadley got plenty of 8th birthday attention including her own cake and too many presents!

I have to note that her crutches are probably her favorite present and has become a favorite with friends as well. They love to pretend to have a broken foot, wrap it up, and take turns walking with the crutches.

We had a great day celebrating Daddy and Hadley. I failed at remembering to get a picture of Matt on Father's day. We do not give him enough credit because he really is such an incredible daddy that would do absolutely anything for us! We love him more than he will ever know.  I still feel like the whole day was  blur with just getting home from our trip and having a full day of activities. But it all went so smoothly and we are thankful to have so many things to celebrate.

To Hadley,
You are the most precious 8 year old we could have ever imagined having. You have such a big heart and are always such a joy. I have yet to see you ever wake up in a bad mood and you always start your day with a smile on your face. You love everything about life and I think that is why everyone wants to be around you. You are such a little mommy! You love babies and are so great at even playing with little kids. You have more friends than I thought possible and are always wanting a playdate or being asked for a playdate. I would have never thought we would have such a social little girl but you sure are! You are so secure that you will spend the night just about anywhere but you also love your time with Mommy and Daddy. You are athletic and are good at just about any sport you have tried. Though I think you mostly just like to play so you can be with your friends. We love you so incredibly much and can't wait to watch you grow more throughout the year. Happy Birthday!
Mom and Dad
