Mustang softball tournament

The girls had such a great time playing in their first tournament that they voted on playing in just one more to finish out the season. This one was in Mustang and we had heard some really good teams were going to be there. It was also VERY hot! And Hadley just doesn't tolerate heat well. I thought we would hear a lot of complaining but she actually had so much fun and never once did I hear her say it was too hot. I mainly took video of her games but I did get some pictures of her fielding at 2nd base and hitting during the first game.

This was her first time at bat in the first game. AND she had her BEST hit of the entire season. I wish so bad I had been recording this one instead of taking pictures! She smashed the ball over the 2nd baseman's head and halfway to the fence. I saw the look in her eyes as she rounded 1st base and was hoping for a homerun. Unfortunately, these girls were incredible fielders and were able to hold her at third. She was a little disappointed but we explained to her how AWESOME a triple is!!! So exciting!

We ended up losing our first game which gave us a two hour break before our second game. We found a shade tree, pulled out the snacks, and the girls enjoyed resting before it was time to warm up for our second game!

This is where the pictures ended and I pulled out the video camera for the rest of the games. But our second game ended in a solid win after all the girls had a great game. There were cheers had by all and with a double elimination tournament, we had another game to play!

And one last pic from our third game. These girls were unbelieveable. They could field like no other team we had played and we didn't have a chance from the very beginning. Hadley had two great hits but both went to the short stop who was able to fire it to first and get Hadley out. This picture was taken after one of Hadley's hits where she completely disagreed that she hadn't made it there first. I finally had to show her the video for her to see that she was infact out. Poor girls were pretty disappointed and it wasn't a fun game to end on. We explained that they all played great, it was an awesome experience, and they were playing an abnormally good team that didn't allow them to see how much they have actually improved. Overall, it was another fun tournament. Unfortunately, because of the crazy rain and our scheduled vacations it ended up being the last game we played this season...excited for fall!
