September pics

September was a great month! We had lots of fun and spent much of our time outside. We spent our last weekend (Labor Day) at the pool and were sad to see it close for the weekend.

Mommy and Hadley both a little bit sunburned!

Labor day has worn this little one out!!!

My first time to drop Hadley off in the carpool line instead of walking her in. This seems like no big deal but to me it was another emotional moment. I watched her walk away from the car, turn around to wave, and walk towards the front door. And once again, I cried. It makes my stomach turn to see her getting so much more independent. I am just so proud of her and the young girl she is becoming.

Hudson's first day of school and Kristin sent me this pic. He was so excited for his new classroom but not so excited for new teachers. Miss Jasey has moved up with him each year and I know it will be a little bit tough to have someone new.

I had some work done on my car and borrowed Mama's car for a couple days (since she isn't driving it at the moment anyway). She has a dvd player in her car and Hudson was transfixed! No more crying in the car, no more fights to get in the carseat....I think I have found our next purchase. Thankfully, Mama and Papa also have portable dvd players and have let us borrow them for a little while. They have changed my life, especially when it comes to the carpool line!

Playing at the park after soccer practice. Hudson loved the curvy slides and Hadley loved swinging with her friend, Ashlyn.

Banana nut muffins with my little chef. While daddy and Hudson were sleeping in on Saturday morning Hadley and I decided to make some treats for them. She practically made them herself with me only giving her instructions. It took quite a bit longer to get it done but she was so proud of herself.

We had a torrential rain come through along with some really high winds. Our door blew open and flooded the inside of our house (thankfully staying on the tile) while we were gone. It also blew some scaffolding off the house next door which managed to get impaled in our roof! It was a pretty crazy storm with lots of damage throughout the neighborhood.

We pulled in the neighborhood and apparently Hudson thought it would be ok to take off his seatbelt and act like a crazy kid in the backseat. It probably didn't help that I just took a picture.

Love this thumb-sucking profile!

Hadley's class had to walk around the room and find things that started with a specific letter. They then had to right the word in the corresponding spot. I loved seeing the words Hadley picked and especially how she spelled them. I think she did a pretty good job!

Hudson is still not potty trained and I don't see it in the near future. He is so strong-willed that if we were to suggest it I think it would cause him to put on the brakes even more so it is something we don't really even talk about. I know he will tell us when he is ready and there is no need to push it. However, the other day I was at work and Kristin sent me this hilarious picture. He had pooped in the potty for the first time and was obviously SO excited! Of course, he now feels like he has "been there, done that" and has no interest in doing it again!

A few more of our activities:

Parker, Hadley, Peyton, and Perceval before the football game.

A picture of the new stadium. The field is so beautiful!

Hudson loves the games, but is mainly concerned with knowing where Perceval is at all times...

We took the kids over to Mama and Papa's house to cheer Mama up since she is stuck in the house with her healing hip. Hudson insisted on wearing his cowboy boots and cowboy hat. Buck was pretty crazy about his hat and loved wearing it as well.

Pedicures and Manicures with my favorite girl!

Pictures from the photo booth at Knightwalk, one of the schools fundraisers.

Still loving the cowboy hat and wanting to wear it at all times!

Pouty-face is about to crack a smile... He was actually in a great mood and pretending to pout because he was out of food and wanted more.

Sleepy before bed and all tangled up watching cartoons.

Poor little cowboy! I happened to take this picture the day of the Cowboys loss against West Virginia. I posted it on Instagram without realizing the comments I would get relating it to the game. The real reason for the picture was because I told him we had to go inside and so he moped over to the door, took off his hat, and hung his head. He is so very good at pouting!

Farmers tan, tiny bottom, and some long legs playing in the bathtub. His legs aren't actually really long but they sure look like it here.

Walking at the park with Papa.

Why are kids so stinking cute when they are sleeping? This girl is still getting pretty worn out with 5 full days of school each week. She is absolutely LOVING it though!

Zoo day

After church Matt and I decided it was too nice outside to not spend the day outside! So we went home to change clothes and eat lunch and then quickly loaded up the car to spend the rest of the day at the zoo. It was so crowded but even with the parking lot full we still had no problem seeing all the exhibits we wanted to see. They just opened up Sting Ray Bay and we decided to start there. You pay $3 a person and then get to pet the sting rays. Good thing it wasn't more expensive because Hudson wouldn't have any part of it and Hadley was a little scared as well. She claims she was trying to pet the sting rays but everytime they would get really close she would quickly pull her hand away. After finishing up at Sting Ray Bay we saw the monkeys, flamingos, childrens zoo, and grabbed a snack. We then made our way to the gorillas, lions, elephants (Hadley's favorite), and rhinos (Hudson's favorite). We finished up at the park where Hadley showed off her monkey bar skills and Hudson showed us how he has learned to balance (which he was SO proud of). We all had a great time with no meltdowns, unlike the last zoo visit. The kids laughed together, played together, and chased after one another. It was one of those days that was so perfect and one that I didn't want to end.
