Fair day

I had one of the best nights that I have had in a long time!!!! Matt and I decided to take the kids to the fair tonight but were worried it could be a complete disaster. We didn't know how many rides Hudson would be able to ride on and if it would be too much commotion for him. We decided to ask Peyton to go with us since Gunner had just come home from the hospital and it could be a special thing for her. Hadley was so excited about Peyton coming as well.  We picked Peyton up and the girls were singing the whole way to the fair. Hudson had no idea what "the fair" was and wasn't too excited....until we pulled into the parking lot. The kids looked over and saw the ferris wheel and Hudson's screams were louder than the girls! They could hardly wait to get out of the car and head inside. We had a great time. The kids got along perfectly, we ate more than our stomachs could handle, and the kids went on as many rides as they wanted.

Hadley and Peyton had to put up with a few kiddie rides for Hudson's sake. They were good sports though.

SO HAPPY!

And the start of the food binge....

Hudson had a few tears when he was told he wasn't tall enough for one of the rides. I said, "Hudson, if you would eat more you will start growing taller." It worked!!! He ate more tonight than I've ever seen him eat...two sno cones, nachos, cotton candy, two chocolate chip cookies, cookie dough on a stick, and pizza!!! I was a little scared we would be seeing some of that food later but it all stayed down and he slept great...

Daddy got suckered into a machine gun for his little man. It pretty much made Hudson's night and he could not have cared less about the rides afterwards. He walked around shooting his gun for the next two hours.

Hadley, Peyton, Matt, and Hudson on the gondola. I walked beneath the girls because I was just sure Hadley was going to slip beneath the bars. They all made it safely as any sane person would expect and we moved right on to more food.

The girls saw a tattoo station and had to get tattoos. They guy said they were $13...but would last 4 days! Shouldn't they last a month for that price? But Matt and I had already decided you don't go to the fair with any limits or its not fun to go to the fair! Hadley got hello kitty on her arm and then Peyton decided to get one on her back. I was cracking up that she would even realize some people have tattoos there! Hudson insisted on getting one as well (because there was no way he wanted to be left out) but was so scared when it came his turn. He saw the gun and was just sure it was going to hurt. We ended up having to hold him down to get it because he cried everytime we walked off without it. After all was said and done he looked at me and said, "that didn't hurt, mommy!" He loved his superman tattoo and looked at it all night.

Full of energy and smiles!

I have never LOVED the fair because I don't really enjoy crowds BUT tonight sure made me excited for next year!
