Seaside, Day 5

Our last morning to wake up in Seaside and our flight was at 1. We figured we needed to leave about 10:30 so the kids watched tv while we got all packed up. Hadley and I walked to the coffee shop to pick up some coffee before leaving and we decided on getting breakfast on our way to the airport.

We decided to stop at various beaches on the way to the airport and check out some local shops. The first place was called The Sweet Peddler in Seacrest beach. It was a wonderful candy shop and we let the kids pick out some candy for the airplane ride home. They also had bikes you could order that were custom from the color of the pedals to every other accent on a bike.

Breakfast at Another Broken Egg. We had heard so many great things about this place and though it was good, I think we are pretty spoiled to great breakfast restaurants here in OKC so it wasn't anything special. It still did the trick of filling our bellies and getting us comfortable for the trip home. As we were leaving we got notification from the airline that our plane had been delayed 2 hours due to storms in Houston. Great. So what to do now? We decided to drive through Rosemary Beach and Watercolor to see if next time we came we would want to stay somewhere else or stick with Seaside.

These pictures are from the parks and streets in Watercolor. It was beautiful and very green. There are a lot of trees and it is much bigger than Seaside. But I love the openness of Seaside and being able to watch all the kids play together. It was about noon in these pictures so lots of shade and the pictures aren't great but the kids loved running through the park and playing in the water.

I think we have decided after all the visiting other beaches that we really loved Seaside the most. It definitely goes down as one of my favorite trips we have ever taken. The kids got along so perfectly and were so wonderful for us as well. It was relaxing and nice to just be the four of us and have no commitments. We did whatever we wanted for the day and just enjoyed time together. This will be a place I will miss until we can hopefully come again soon!

Here we are at the airport and the kids just made the connection that we were leaving town! Hadley bought a shark tooth necklace in the airport and it was only moments after getting on the plane that they were passed out. They slept the entire way to Houston making for a pretty easy plane flight for all of us. We made it home and are already missing our wonderful little vacation home and the little piece of heaven called, Seaside.
