Relaxing on the couch after a long swim:
Kristin sent me this picture of their picnic at the park. It makes my day to see them having so much fun with her. Look at Hudson's cheesy smile!
Hadley and a few of her teammates after a game. Hadley loved when Peyton would come watch her play!
Matt and I thought it would be fun to take the kids to the tennis courts and they could run around while we hit balls. Hadley quickly decided she would rather hit balls with us and did fairly well. This is when we decided it would be fun to put her in a tennis camp.
Hudson had more fun chasing bugs and crawling back and forth under the net.
While Hadley was at a camp one day I decided to take Hudson to the store and let him pick out his very own present for Hadley's birthday. I should have known better because he insisted that she needed this:
And to no surprise, he ended up getting a toy as well as finding Hadley another present. Both of our kids sure do know how to work us with those sweet smiles.
After putting Hudson down for a nap I came downstairs to find Hadley asleep like this:
Kristin sent me this picture of the kids at the park while I was at work.
Hadley and I having fun making faces at each other and taking pictures. She keeps me laughing and smiling all day long...
Being silly to avoid bedtime:
How is he looking so old and where did my baby go?!?!
A few more t-ball pictures:
Getting instructed by daddy to run to home plate...fast!
Kristin sent me this picture of the kids having a picnic at the park. Hudson looks dashing in purple sunglasses!
Matt and I started a canvas wall and plan to add onto it for many years. We love how it has turned out so far...
Hudson had one day that he thought it would be funny to stick EVERYTHING up his nose. The first picture is bubble gum and the second is french fries. Thankfully, he got over thinking it was funny before we landed ourselves in the ER.
Hadley's first golf lesson for the summer. She really is getting more interested in playing and has started figuring out how to hit the ball better.
Hudson wanted to help Hadley set her ball on the tee.
In 95 degree heat we were all pretty hot and sweaty after the lessons. We had dinner with Tim, E, Jase, and Lexi afterwards in the clubhouse. The kids cooled off for a split second before heading back outside to play with more kids.
After church one Sunday we went out to Lolly and Pops house for lunch. On our way out we noticed that there was a kite flying festival so after everyone ate we all loaded up to watch all the kites. Unlike any other day in Oklahoma it wasn't very windy so some of the really large kites had a hard time staying up.
Hudson got these shoes when he was a newborn and they finally fit. These sweet friends of Lolly and Pops had Pistol Pete sewn on some converse and brought them to us. Hudson was pretty excited to wear them!
Hudson is pretty good at stalling when it comes to bedtime and here is a perfect example. He thought that if I believed he was asleep in Hadley's lap that I would maybe let him sleep there. I think the smile may have given him away!
We needed some new life jackets for the lake and Dick's was having a buy one get one free sale on all life jackets. As we were walking through the store Hudson found the life jacket he HAD to have. He insisted on putting it on the minute we bought it and even wore it to eat afterwards. He thought he was a shark and would growl at anyone that looked at him.
I saved my favorite pictures for last. We were all playing outside and I grabbed the camera to take a few pictures of the kids riding their bikes, scooters, and push toys. Hadley has decided lately that she doesn't really want me taking her picture so I was really happy when she was up for any pictures!
Looking older than 6....
Sure it was 90 degrees but Hudson saw his hooded jacket in the mudroom and insisted on wearing it. He never once admitted he was hot either.
The summer is half over and it is my favorite summer to date! We have only had 1 day over 100 degrees compared to over 10 days the past few years. We have spent so much time outside and the kids have brought us such joy. They are getting along so great to be spending each day together and they make us smile and laugh each and every day!
