OC Softball and Baseball camp

Hadley had another fun week at Oklahoma Christian softball camp and Hudson had his first year of baseball camp. They both loved it. This year Hadley only had 4 girls from her team that could make it but I feel like it made her get a little more out of camp this time. And it was run a little differently this year and rather than everyone getting awards, they only gave awards to most improved and overall best. It made the awards ceremony much quicker but I kind of missed seeing what award they gave each kid. Baseball camp was the same way. Hudson did get most improved which was really exciting. He has not played a lot of baseball so he had a lot to learn. But he is really loving it so far! I'm a little nervous about how many more weekends we could potentially be spending on the ballfield if he decides to be all in! We know the coach of the boys baseball team really well so it was fun for Hudson to get to learn under Coach McGuire. He would get so excited to go each day to see him.

This was the point Hudson got worried he wouldn't get an award. He held it together but I could see that it was about to end badly. Thankfully, his name was called and he was thrilled to be chosen as the most improved camper.

All the softball players.

The four pixies.

Hadley had a little bit of a struggle this year with both teams coming to camp. We had already signed up with the Pixies but then the Diamond Divas wanted to come as well. Hadley did such a great job introducing friends and they all hung out together. But then came team uniform day. She was so concerned about hurting feelings that it was hard for her to pick a uniform to wear. Since there were less Pixies and she signed up with them first she just explained to the Diamond Divas that she needed to wear that uniform. Everyone understood and it worked out great. But I sure hated her being put in that position. She is such a pleaser and it was hard on her.

These are all the girls from camp that do or will play softball at Crossings! If they all keep playing and practicing together I anticipate Crossings having a pretty great softball team someday.

Happy boy after his first week of Baseball camp. He is SO exhausted but says he can't wait to go again next year!

Sno cones to celebrate our first week of summer camp!
