Hudson's week without his sister

Hudson sure did miss his sister but he also loved getting to be the only child for a week. We just got our new tritoon boat and everyone was so excited to go see it! We decided to spend the weekend at the lake and Hudson got some great time with his cousins. It was kinda last minute and thankfully, Hadley didn't know we were going or it may have been a rough departure for her.  

The lake was awesome! We had great weather and the lake is totally full. The kids rode four wheelers but we spent so much time on the boat. Hudson was even so exhausted that he fell asleep on the boat which rarely happens anymore. 

After coming home from the lake we finally got to swim in our pool!!! Yay! It was finally full by the time we got home and Hudson could hardly wait to jump in. In fact, he got straight out of the car (with his swimsuit already on) and ran straight to the backyard. Hadley really wanted the pool to be full before she left and it didn't quite happen. So that was such a bummer!

Our neighbors got this cute little frenchie puppy and Hudson fell in love! How cute is that smile?

These two pics are my favorite of the week. We asked Hudson if he wanted to write Hadley a letter and send it to camp. He absolutely did and then totally stressed out when he couldn't think of the perfect thing to say. I think he laid on the chair like this for about 15 minutes trying to figure out what to write first. But he pulled it together with zero help and wrote the sweetest note to her....

Hudson spent some time playing with friends. Emma, our next door neighbor, is 6 months older than Hudson and usually wanting to play girl stuff with Hadley but they hung out a bunch this week and loved playing together. Our sitter also brought her little brother Johnathan over to play while I worked.

We spent some time at the pool and our neighborhood had a little pool party one night with balloon animals and snow cones that ended up being really fun.

And, finally, a few more pictures of some mommy/son time. Its been a great week with Hudson. We are ready for Hadley to be back but he needed this time as much as she did!
