Hadley turns double digits!

Our baby girl is 10! It doesn't even seem possible and I am blown away at what an amazing, sweet girl she has developed into. She has really been looking forward to this birthday and couldn't wait to go to bed so she could wake up as a 10 year old!

We decorated the door after she fell asleep and took a video of her busting out the next morning. Its always so much fun to see them excited to come out!

One of the most exciting things about having a summer birthday is getting to unwrap presents in the morning and still have time to play with them.

Opening most of her presents from us... a new swell bottle from Hudson, some new Ivivva clothes, more athletic clothes for Kanankuk, and finally....

the best present of all....a new baby doll. She has been asking for the longest time for another doll (one that looks just like a newborn) but she was positive she was not getting one. It truly was a shock when she opened up her present to reveal another doll. She was so excited!!!

A little recap of our past year...

This evening we had all the family over to celebrate our girl. We had pizza, cookie cake, and some more present opening. Hadley got some pool toys, googles, beach bags, a lot of American girl gear, and some baby clothes. It as such a perfect night for her and she had a constant smile on her face.

So everyone has left and its just the four of us. All day today I have thought about her being 10 years old and how fast it has gone. And then, right before bed I looked over to see her sitting on the floor in a ruffled dress, watching a movie with her American girl doll, holding her baby doll, and drinking a juice box! It definitely made my heart happy to feel like she is still my LITTLE girl!

A few things about Hadley to remember of this time in her life.... Hadley is such a dream daughter. She literally has no attitude with us, loves to be with us, and is so easy going. She gets annoyed with her brother and they have started fighting more but she loves him so much. I think all of her annoyance comes from him not letting her help him with everything he does. She just wants to be a little mommy! When most of her friends don't let their little siblings in the room with them, she invites him to play with her and her friends whenever they are over. She still sleeps in his room with him (after a brief period of them sleeping in her room). She loves to see him at school and is so proud of him. Hadley is the best friend anyone could have. She loves everyone and will play with anyone that is willing. She is so inclusive at school and never wants anyone left out. She befriended the two new girls in her class this year and wanted to make sure and have them over so they would feel welcome at the school. In fact, one has become one of her best friends. She doesn't really do drama and has been great at staying out of it. Hadley still could not care less about TV but has started loving to watch YouTube. She is always watching videos on babies, taking care of babies, babysitting, etc. She even makes her own videos now but we just don't post them. They will be so fun to look back on someday. Hadley is doing so well in school. She made all A's for the 2nd year and doesn't seem to struggle with any subject. She does not like history (like her momma) and seems to love math the most. She never complains about homework and does it the second we get home. Hadley eats just about anything but she is definitely a sugar addict and a snacker. It's hard to get her to eat a full meal but she seems to always be hungry! She is also going through quite the growth spurt right now so I'm sure thats contributing. Right now she weighs 60lbs and is 52 inches putting her at the 40% in height and 20% in weight. Hadley loves to have her back rubbed and if she is sitting near you she always ends up in your lap to "tickle" her back, arms, legs, etc.  Hadley NEVER sits still. She is planning her day the second she gets up and has more stamina than any kid I know. She is always swimming, jumping on the trampoline, playing dolls, taking walks outside, playing with friends, or playing  pretend by herself. She loves taking baths with bath bombs but does not like showers. She is into wearing her hair in buns and braids right now and is slowly outgrowing the bow phase. Her favorite color is mint green and teal. She loves to sing and dance. I know I'm leaving stuff out but just trying to write it down because I absolutely love this girl more than she could ever know and I want to remember every single part of her at this stage. I am so proud of her!
