Halloween

Halloween is finally here and the weather held out to be a great night. You never know in Oklahoma...it could be snowing or we could be wearing flip flops for Halloween. For the 5th year in a  row the our families have met at our house for pizza before heading out to trick-or-treat. Ryan and Lisa and their kids came over (Peyton was at her moms this year), Erin and Tim brought Jake by, and Lisa's family (her mom, dad, two brothers, sister-in-law, and their daughter) came as well after a family emergency caused a change in plans for them. It ended up being great to have them here and we had quite a crowd. We finished eating, played outside a bit, and then took some pictures before heading out. We all loaded up on golf carts and were on our way. I am so incredibly thankful that my parents always offer to sit back at the house and hand out candy so that Matt and I can both go out with the kids. I think they love to see all the kids come up in their costumes.

This year was not much different than the previous years. We had trouble keeping up and their bags were full of candy before we knew it. But we did add one house to our route... the Fergusons are a family that have an extra lot next to their house. They turn that entire lot into a haunted graveyard maze. It truly is scary and they have people constantly jumping out at you. We have always bypassed the house but this time the kids wanted to go. Hudson ran his little heart out and didn't even take his eyes off the end. He said it wasn't even scary but Im pretty sure his face told a different story. Hadley got spooked by a clown at the entrance and she had immediate tears. It took her about 5 minutes to work up the nerve to try again but she did it and made it all the way through. She even came out laughing at the end. It was the talk of the night and it will be a definite stop from now on. This was in front of the graveyard house:

After the trick-or-treating was done we came back to our house for the girls to trade candy and check out all they got. We sure do love having so many friends in the neighborhood, making Halloween that much more fun!

Hadley had made this sign for our cooktop and also a card to tell all about Halloween for everyone that came over. Too cute!
