Hudson's first soccer season

Poor Hudson's soccer season ended almost as quickly as it started! Hudson had been asking us to put him in soccer since last spring when Hadley was playing. He was so excited and talked about it all the time. We got a little nervous when we went to his "meet the coach" to get his new uniform and meet the teammates as well. He was super shy and had no interest in being there. We left after about 5 minutes and he started telling us he wasn't sure he wanted to play. We dropped it for a few days until the next Saturday  (his first game). Unfortunately, we had a crazy cold front come through and it was brutally cold and windy. Even all bundled up he got out of the car and was quick to say, "I not gonna play!" I had taken Hadley to her first soccer game and Matt was with Hudson. After making it onto the field and realizing there was no way this was going to happen, Matt texted me and said they were heading to Hadley's game. I didn't get any pictures of either of the kids on their first day because it was hectic and cold enough they didn't even want to stand outside for a picture.

Fast forward to one week later. Much warmer and Hudson was excited to play. He got all dressed, wanted to practice in the backyard, and said he was going to score a lot of goals. I got a few pictures of  Hudson  playing around in the backyard.

After taking pictures we decided maybe I could take Hudson this time and Matt would take Hadley. So we jumped in the car and made our way to the fields. As we pulled up Hudson looked out the window and saw the sea of people all standing on the fields and waiting to watch their kids play soccer. I could tell he suddenly started getting nervous and I just tried to keep a happy mood in the car. We got out of the car and he immediately started saying he was cold. Of course, it was no where close to cold and he was just remembering it got him out of playing last time. Within minutes he wouldn't even take two steps closer to the field. Knowing our son so well and how strong-willed he is I understood it was not worth the fight. We decided to call it quits for the game (which turned out to be the season) and head to Hadley's game so we could watch her. He was all smiles once we were back in the car.

At Hadley's game he giggled and played and was back to his happy self. Cute guy sure does look the soccer part and maybe soon he will want to try it out again...I just think he needs to be a little older!
