Parents Day at soccer

We wrapped up Hadley's first season of indoor soccer and she loved it so much! Matt and I are so proud of her and how well she played against 5 and 6 year olds. She loves to run, has no fear in jumping in there to get the ball, and turns to look at us with the biggest smile when she scores a goal. She asks daily how many more days until soccer so I think we will be sticking with it for a little while. The last week of the season is Parents day and the mom and/or dad gets to go practice with their child and then scrimage against them in a game. Hadley could not wait to have us play with her although we had to take turns so that one of us could be on the field with Hudson too.

Before Hadley and I went on the field together we walked over to Hudson's field to take a few pictures of him. They aren't the greatest pictures because I had to stay hidden. If he had seen Hadley and me he would have quickly wanted to come out with us instead of stay in there and play. On that note, Hudson's season started out a disaster. He loved to go out there for about 10 of the 60 minutes. The first 10 minutes was the warm-up and they got to just run around and kick the ball. But then came the organized games and he would completely quit. He didn't want to be told what to do and would cry until we let him go out and get snacks. We decided to finish out the season and see if he would begin to open up but knew that this would be the last season we played for a little while. Much to our surprise, over the next few weeks he made huge strides and by the end he was staying out there for all but about 10 minutes and loved it. He became friends with the kids on his "team" and we got lots of smiles and very few tears. And so he begins his next season next week because we know there is no chance he will stay off the fields each Sunday while Hadley is out on her field!

After we watched Hudson for a second it was Hadley's turn. She could hardly concentrate at first because she was so excited to have me out there.

Warm-ups and getting directions from her coach:

Hadley soon realized that I was the only mom out there and seemed to be a little bit embarrassed to have her mom out there. She politely asked if her daddy could come out there instead. Mommy was only a little bit offended!

Hudson need a quick break so Daddy and I traded spots and I sat on the bleachers with Hudson and took some pictures of our soccer star.

It was a good thing Matt and I switched spots because they played a team of Foxes and Farmers and Hadley would have really been embarrassed if she had had me on her team for that game. It was so cute to see them plot out their path to the other side and Hadley was SO very proud to cheer her daddy on as he was the last one to still be in the game!

Coming up with a plan:

Hadley was a Fox (with the flag hanging off the back). The farmers had to try and catch the foxes before they got to the other side of the field. She was running right behind her daddy and they quickly made it to safety.

Hadley's biggest fan:

They've got everyone coming after them!

Hadley's flag may have been stolen but she was still so happy to cheer her daddy on! It was absolutely the cutest thing to see her so proud of her daddy. She kept smiling so big and wanting to stand right by his side.

These are a few of my favorite pictures. She adores him!

Next time around with Hadley and Daddy being the farmers:

Water break and Hudson quickly ran and jumped up in Hadley's arms.

Hadley tried to get Hudson to pose for a picture with her and neither of us were very successful in getting his attention.

So ready for Hadley to be done!

We had such a fun first season and can't wait for the next! Unfortunately, Hadley was no thrilled to find out her next season's jersey color would be red and white (which to her is just boomer sooner). I, personally, think she will pull it off really well!
