It was a bummer to have 4th of July fall right in the middle of the week but we still had a great celebration anyway. We decided to celebrate at the lake the following weekend so more on that later. But for now...
I went in to work for a couple hours in the morning and Hadley went over to Peyton's house to swim. After wearing out there she came back home, took a nap, and got ready to go swim at Jane and John's house. Jane throws a 4th of July party each year and this year was extra special because Matt's brother and his family came in town. They will be here through the weekend and then they are going home to finish their house remodel while Davis and Sloan get to stay for a couple more weeks! Hadley is so excited to spend lots of time with her Florida cousin.
On her way to Jane's house.
Hudson was pretty excited about swimming as well. He clapped the entire way there.
Erin, John, and Judy
Amber's family.
Sloan, Kinley, and Hadley in the hot tub.
Haha. Mean mommy for taking pictures of his fits. Who knew a broken lawnmower that he wanted to play with could make him SO mad!
Hadley is getting so good at swimming. She jumps off the diving board and can now swim all the way to the other side of the pool.
Trey and Avery
MacKenzie, Chancen, and their newest addition, Addison. She is so precious!
Not typical for Hudson to not get involved. Davis and Kase were fighting over the hot tub because Kase wanted the bubbles off and Davis wanted them on. Hudson just couldn't figure out why it was a big deal!
After swimming, we came back to our house to watch our neighborhood fireworks show. Last year the fire marshall said it was the biggest display in the city. After raising a lot of money, it was possibly beat this year. Mama, Papa, Ryan, Lisa, and Peyton came over as well so we had quite a crew here!
A little golf while waiting for it to get dark.
Davis loves firemen and was really excited to find out Ryan was a fireman. He kept walking by him and would look all the way up from his feet to his head like he wasn't a real person.
Hudson was ready for the show.
As was everybody else. Finally dark but the wind delayed the start a little bit. We finally got started about 10:00 and the kids were beyond exhausted. Thankfully, they stayed pretty entertained and ended up loving the show. Especially Davis and Hudson!
This one pooped out for a bit.
Sloan and Kinley spent the night so we made a pallet in the movie room and they were out in minutes. Here are the girls eating cinnamon rolls for breakfast.
And they, of course, spent the rest of the morning playing dress up and having fashion shows.
