Day 2 in Steamboat / Rehearsal Dinner

Before we flew to Steamboat we looked online for things to do with the kids and one thing that sounded fun to us was the Alpine Slide. When our rafting guide confirmed that it was really fun we decided to take the kids the next day. If you look in the back/middle of this picture there is a concrete slide going down a mountain. This is the Alpine Slide.

Peyton is pretty excited!
Hadley was our helper the whole trip and kept Hudson happy in his carseat. He loves to laugh at his sissy.

Just bought our tickets and ready to head up:

You had to be 2 to participate so Hudson just stood in line and looked cute.

Peyton and Lisa going up the chair lift:

Hadley and her daddy on the chair lift. Let me just say I was absolutely terrified of Hadley falling out of the lift. I kept yelling to Matt to hold on to her!

When you get to the top of the mountain you put the sled that is carried up by a chair lift on the track and get on it. In between your legs is a brake that helps you control how fast you go down. Although you are supposed to be 7 before you can ride it yourself, Peyton was able to ride alone. The first time went great but the second time she was paying attention to everyone else and forgot to hit the break. She hit the rubber tires at the end while going full speed and flew straight up in the air, ending up with a pretty big scrape down her arm. With only one day before the wedding, I think we were really lucky that's all she ended up with!

Here is a picture of Peyton just seconds before her collision:

Papa had to help keep Hudson entertained because he was not really thrilled about not being included in all the action:

But then we found a park and he was a happy baby going high in the swing!

On our way to the rehearsal Hudson was once again fussy in the car and Hadley reached over and held his hand. I love the big grin he gets when his sister gives him some attention!

The rehearsal was held at a small baptist church on top of a mountain just outside the town because the gondola was closed and they were only opening it for the actual ceremony. Here is a picture of the view from right outside the church.

Some more family pictures while waiting for everyone to arrive:

Some pictures from the rehearsal. I loved how calm and collected both Ryan and Lisa seemed to be:

Immediately following we had the rehearsal dinner at the Ore House (a western/barbeque style restaurant). It was wonderful food but the setting made it perfect. As seen by the pictures it was a pretty big crowd of about 75 people. Lisa surprised Ryan with a great slideshow and a couple toasts were made that confirmed how special this couple is to all of their friends:

I had to include this last picture because of the story that goes along. There was a great area for all the kids (all girls) to play and they were being so loud. At one point it became much quieter and I noticed they were all sitting in a row. As I got closer I could hear them singing "Baby" by Justin Bieber. Keep in mind that the oldest child there is only 5. Oh brother!!!
