We had another tournament this weekend and the girls played pretty well. It was just a one day Easter tournament which made for a long day! They battled back in a couple games but ended up getting out of the the tournament after a couple tough losses. I feel like I usually try and keep track of each game and I just didn't this time. I was distracted with a couple other things. Hadley got hit by a pitch in the 2nd game. It came hard from a really good pitcher and hit her right on the elbow. Left a huge hematoma right on her elbow. She stayed on 1st and toughed it out. She cried a bit but still wanted to play! Bary even commented that he couldn't afford to lose her at 2nd so he was glad she still wanted to play.
But then the very next time up at bat.... Hadley got hit by a pitch AGAIN! In the same spot! And this time it about brought her to her knees. It caused the hematoma to rupture and it even hit her so hard it left the stitches from the ball on her elbow. I felt terrible for her! She toughed it out again and made it to first but she was hurting bad. She still finished out the game and tournament and though her at bats were a little rough, she managed to play great in the field.
Update: this picture is from one week later where her arm bruised halfway up her bicep and halfway down her forearm. I think I may have one of the toughest girls around! So proud of her for not letting this scare her and for getting right back out there as if nothing happened.
