Tribute Dance Competition

Hadley had her 1st dance competition of the year this weekend and the 2nd time we have gone to Tribute in Claremore, OK. We found out she would be dancing on Sunday but it was early enough to not be able to drive up Sunday morning. Thankfully, Mama and Papa were excited to take the RV again and come watch her dance. They brought it last year after they had just gotten it and we found out the RV park in Claremore is really fun. Plus, the drive was much better than going in the car. So our plan was this:

We would ride down with Mama and Papa in the RV Saturday morning. We wanted to stop in Tulsa for lunch and then do a little shopping before heading to Claremore. We'd swim in the hotel and then Hadley and I were going to stay in the hotel so she could wake up really early and get ready. Hudson was going to stay in the RV with Mama and Papa and come watch her dance Sunday morning. Matt was going to stay home Saturday so we wouldn't have to board the dogs and come up early Sunday morning. Mama and Papa would go home right after Hadley danced and we would all stay for awards and then right home with Matt. Well...it mostly went as planned.

Mama and Papa came by about 10am and we left for Tulsa. Mama had the RV packed full of snacks to make the trip more fun! We played some games, read some books, and had fun playing.

We stopped in Tulsa to eat at Mi Cocina and shop at West Elm and Restoration Hardware for some house stuff. The kids were troopers. They had a little fun dancing in the reflection of the sugar holder at the restaurant too.

We got to the RV park and the kids played on the playground while Papa hooked up the RV. They love this park. And it overlooks a horse race track which would be so fun if there was racing going on. They were playing so well together, creating ninja warrior courses, and having the best time. We played for a while until it was time for dinner. Papa unhooked the car and we went to dinner and then drove over to the hotel to get checked in and let the kids swim for a bit.

And that's where it all went crazy. We ate dinner and the kids were so excited to swim. We walked into the hotel only to be told they didn't have a room for us because they cancelled our reservation since we didn't show up the night before. Well, I had actually booked Friday and Saturday night early on since I wasn't sure when Hadley would be dancing and then I called and cancelled the Friday night reservation when I realized we didn't need it. I even had the lady's name that I spoke to. Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do. Every single room was occupied and there wasn't a room available in the entire city! So we resorted to our next option...staying in the RV with everyone else. It was only going to be difficult when I had to get her up at 6am to get ready and try not to wake everyone else.

But I sure did complain and at least got her to let us swim so the kids wouldn't be upset. They had fun swimming and I had fun watching them!

Exhausted from swimming and a long day and Hadley fell asleep in the car on the way back to the RV park.

Saturday morning went fine. We woke up really early, got ready as much as we could, and Papa dropped Hadley and me off at the convention center. We got ready the rest of the way there with the other girls. Another mom helped me rat Hadley's hair to the high heavens and she was ready to go!

Hadley did so great in her dance! She did a perfect front walkover and I was all nerves waiting for it to happen. She was full of smiles when she came off stage and those smiles even got bigger when she saw her daddy there waiting for her. Of course, she knew he was coming but no one makes her more proud than having her daddy there. Mama and Papa watched and Hudson loved watching as well. He cheered for her and gave a big hug when she was done.

Mama and Papa went on home, daddy and Hudson went to lunch, and I hung out with Hadley waiting for awards. Daddy and Hudson got back just in time, we watched Hadley's group get platinum and 1st overall (which is the two highest awards) and we were ready to get home!

A quick stop at Braums on the way home and she was out in just a few minutes! Such a fun weekend with my girl!
