Hadley's 4th Dance Recital

Another dance recital in the books! This year Hadley took ballet and hip hop. This was Peyton's first year of dance and Hadley was really excited to be in a dance class with her. She seems to really love both classes. Hip hop is just fun but I just think she is such a sweet, precious ballerina. She has always been very graceful so it just seems to fit her well. We are still deciding on what classes she wants to take next year but we've got some time. For now, she finished up a great year at her recital and did so well. And most importantly, she smiled the entire time!

I took a some pictures of her in her hip hop costume before leaving for the recital. And then we have some in her ballet costume from after the recital.

Those eyelashes!!!

Lolly, Pops, Mama, Papa, Ryan, Lisa, and all the little brothers were there to watch Hadley and Peyton dance. She got more flowers than she could even hold and was so thankful for everyone coming. Hudson was so proud to hand her the flowers he had gotten her and he just kept hugging her like she was a princess. So sweet to see him love all over his sister!

May pictures

We have had record rainfall this year! And though some parts of the state are getting flooded and the rain is unwelcome anymore, we have been thrilled to finally see the lake rise back up the the spillway! This means it is once again full. This first picture is of our backyard during one of the rainstorms. The golf course was so flooded the entire thing was underwater. The second two pictures are of the lake. The first one is in the spring and the second is just a couple months later. Pretty unbelieveable. But with all this wonderful rain for us has come much devastation for the rest of the state. Lots of flooded homes, flooded businesses, and even lives lost. And yet, somehow, there are massive wildfires in California due to the extreme drought continuing.

This was my last time to eat lunch with Hadley as a first grader. It was actually a very emotional day for me as I got in the car and cried that the year was ending. She is growing up SO fast and it gets my stomach in knots to think about it too much. For now, I am just enjoying each lunch I get to spend with her!

Our family met the Mazza's at the clubhouse for dinner one evening and Hadley was insistent on riding her bike all the way there. But I'm still not quite ready for her to ride there all by herself and cross some of the busy intersections in the neighborhood so Hudson and I rode alongside her in the golfcart. She had several uphill climbs and was pretty worn out when we finally got there. But she had a huge smile on her face and was so happy to have done it.

Sometimes I can't get enough pictures of my kids sleeping....

Hadley and Hudson have been really into "stores" lately. Hadley asks to have a lemonade stand just about every weekend and I think because she makes so much money it makes it even more fun! This first picture is a store Hadley and Hudson set up in the garage. They made a sign for the door that said "Welcome to are store!" When you came inside there were all kinds of items you could buy. They were basically selling old happy meal toys but Hudson was even willing to see his bike! No one could see their store so it turns out mommy was their only customer but they still had fun playing pretend. Hudson even dressed up in his police uniform so he could make sure people didn't steal anything.

These two pictures are from a lemonade stand Hadley, Hudson, and Charlotte set up. We ran out of lemonade so it was actually a fruit punch stand. On the right of the sign it says "the fruit punch stand is on the porch." This was added at the end of the day when they had all gotten sunburned and wanted to be in the shade. They propped the sign up against the mailbox but didn't draw in as many customers when their cute faces weren't flagging people down. The other things written on the sign say "If you are a walker you get it for free" and "if kids are by there self they get it free." I thought these were such sweet ideas they came up with themselves. And apparently it worked for getting some tips. I saw them give away lots of free fruit punch, yet they still came inside with $22! And their cups of fruit punch were only $.50 for each one!

A cute picture of the three little brothers waiting on their sisters to get out of class. Its a rare moment to catch them all smiling!

Matt sent me this picture on a day I went in to work early. The kids had woken up while he was in the shower and he came out to see Hudson laying on Hadley's lap while she rubbed his belly. She is such a little mommy.

And this last picture was sent to me by Hadley's teacher on the last week of school when the kids got to wear regular clothes all week. This particular day was obviously patriotic day. We will miss this sweet class of girls.

OC Softball Camp

Hadley did her first ever softball camp at Oklahoma Christian and ended up LOVING it! She was a little nervous the day before and wasn't quite sure it was something she wanted to do but I think it was a little fear of the unknown. She loved being with a few of her great softball friends as well as getting to be coached by college girls. She thought they were pretty cool and wanted to listen to their every word. The head coach is the same coach that has been there for many years and he was excellent. I feel like Hadley learned so much in the 4 days of camp and came away an even better hitter. She was even sad when it was over and asked to do another week of camp!

This picture was from the first day. I was at work and Lindsey went up to eat lunch with the girls. She sent me these pictures to show me the fun they were having...

On Thursday I was off work so LaNeale and I took the boys to Aspen coffee after dropping the girls off so they could play for a little while and we could spend some time together. We went back to our house for the boys to play and then took Subway up to all the girls for lunch. I love to see how excited Hadley still gets to see me and how much she was wanting to show me all she had learned. She even introduced me to a lot of her coaches. LaNeale and I stayed around to watch them the second half of camp and let the boys run around rather than going home for an hour and coming right back. It was pretty cool to see all the drills they were doing with the kids!

Hadley and Holland ended up going back to Brooklyn's house to swim in her pool and I'm shocked they even had enough energy to do it! I picked Hadley up about 7 and it took her two minutes to completely conk out in the car.

On Friday the camp had a scrimmage for the girls so the parents could see the improvement they had made over the week. They had all the older girls in the field and the younger girls were hitting. I think all our girls improved on their hitting and they even learned how to bunt, which was definitely their favorite part!

And finally, they did awards. So proud of all the girls. Hadley's name got called to receive her award which consisted of: Best attitude, 1st in bunting, 1st in long distance throw, 1st in 30ft accuracy throw, 2nd in 60 ft accuracy throw. So proud of her and especially of her "best attitude" award. She is always up for anything with a smile on her face!

Such a fun camp and the girls already say they want to do it again next year...

Memorial Day

We were so excited to finally have a full lake and be able to spend the weekend on the lake with lots of water. With rain all spring we finally have a full lake and we are all so thankful!  However, we ended up getting a little unexpected surprise that threw us for quite a loop. We loaded up the dogs on Saturday to head down to the lake. We didn't leave really early and ended up getting there with lots of time to play outside. It was a little rainy out so we spent a lot of the time playing inside but it was still nice to have a relaxing weekend together. As we were playing a little softball game it started raining and we went inside for the night.

We noticed that the rain continued to get heavier and was not letting up at all. I took a picture right before bed and this is what we could see....a little flooding happening around the flagpole.

And then we woke up in the morning to this!

Everything was flooded! The swingset was in standing water, the gazebo was in standing water, and we had to take the paddleboat to get to the dock. It was pretty unbelieveable. The kids thought it was pretty awesome though and had fun swimming in the bigger lake! It was some pretty cold water so the rest of us had no intentions of getting in...

The rest of the weekend turned out to be pretty nice. It was fun to get on the water and tour around the lake. We were actually the only boat out because the loading ramp was closed and most people hadn't put their boats on their docks for the season yet. As we boated around we saw several flooded houses and almost everyone's boat docks were underwater.

On Sunday, Erin had a cookout at here house and invited Chaney, Mike, and his boys too. We had a fun time going out on the boat with more kids. They all giggled and had a great time. We sure have missed summer and are excited for the next three months!

All the rain left behind a BEAUTIFUL sunset on the water. And with no other boats on the lake we got to enjoy some really pretty, calm waters.

And finally, some more pictures from the weekend. We had a great time celebrating the kick-off to summer. It seems with a full lake after 4 years of being low that we are going to have a pretty great summer with lots of weekends at the lake.
