Christmas Day could not have been more perfect!
Here is the house after Santa had come and gone. Stockings were filled, cookies and rice krispie treats were eaten, and presents were laid out. Now the kids just needed to wake up!
I slept with the kids so that we could make sure and be awake when they first came down the stairs. Unfortunately, to get to our bedroom the kids have to walk through the living room so I can see myself needing to sleep upstairs with them for quite some time. When they woke up I went downstairs to get daddy. He grabbed the video camera and I had my camera to capture some really sweet, excited reactions to the first sight of their presents. Hudson was over-the-moon excited about his Max Tow Truck and Hadley was so excited to have gotten the Kidi-zoom watch that she wanted so badly.
And they were just as excited about the stuff in their stockings. Santa did a great job this year because they could not have been happier!
A blurry picture in front of the tree before we let them tear into their presents. Mama and Papa came over to watch them open their presents and got to see all the oohs and ahhs. I feel like the kids were really appreciative of all they got and it made our day to see them so happy and grateful.
After opening presents and eating cinnamon rolls with Mama and Papa we drove down to Erin and Tims house to deliver our presents to Lexi and Jase before the left to go to their moms. We also were excited to see Jake on his first Christmas. Hudson loved playing with Jase's new legos and Hadley played some new games with Lexi.
It only took about 5 minutes after getting home for Hudson to talk Daddy into building one of his lego sets. This turned into the next lego set and the next. Pretty soon, Daddy and Hudson had spent most of the morning building legos while Hadley and I played with her new cash register and headbanz game.
After a relaxing morning and early afternoon we all got ready and made our way out to Lolly and Pop's house. Hudson could not have been cuter in his jacket and tie that he wanted to wear to match Pops. Both kids wanted to take a toy to show off to everyone and Hudson chose his Batman transformer while Hadley chose her new Elsa and Anna dresses for her American Girl dolls. We took a few pictures when we got there and visited together while we waited for Kip and Amy's family to arrive from Ft. Worth.
The kids just couldn't wait any longer to open presents so we put off eating until the presents were opened. The kids got some pretty great gifts including a new iPad for Hadley and a robe (that Hudson wanted so bad) and lots of Batman toys for Hudson. After eating dinner we played some more and stayed for quite some time before heading back to the house for a good nights rest. It was a perfect Christmas day with even more family time to come!
