Lake with friends

It is so fun to enjoy all the family time we get at the lake and we really cherish the time relaxing and forgetting about the chores to be done at home. But we were so excited when Chris, LaNeale, and family and Derek, Alicia, and Tinsley wanted to come to the lake to play in the water and ride on the boat. The plan was for them to come down on Sunday so we went to the lake on Saturday and spent some time with Mama, Papa, and the four of us. The kids loved all the attention they got and even spent some time playing with the kids next door.

Hudson insisted on wearing his cowboy boots to the lake:

Heading out with Mama and Papa to ride on the pontoon for the first time since all the tornado damage was cleaned up.

The Robertsons and Cargills got to the lake about 9am and after getting settled in and finding life jackets we quickly made it onto the lake.

Tinsley is all girl and thought she was as big as Hadley and Holland.

Hudson and Tinsley were born only a couple weeks apart so it is really cute to watch them play together. They were trying to give each other a high five and kept missing. Love their big smiles!

Oscar loved driving the boat and Hudson even did a pretty good job at sharing. You can tell in the picture he wasn't exactly thrilled about it...

I had tried the day before to throw a ball to Matt as he was jumping in and completely failed. He tried again with the boys and it went much better!

Hudson and Oscar found the giant mud pile and, as little boys should, had a blast playing in it and getting dirty!

Hadley was excited to show off her four-wheeler skills and had fun taking Holland for a ride.

We had washed off and were all sitting on the patio when Hudson went inside, got his cowboy boots, and made his way back down the beach to play in more dirt with his truck. I thought it was just the cutest thing to see him in only his diaper and boots.

Back out on the water to go tubing this time:

Tinsley, Hadley, and I went first...

...and Hudson wasn't very happy about me being out there.

Tubing with Tinsley and Holland.

The little ones soon gave out and passed out on the boat. Well, at least Oscar and Tinsley did. Hudson was NOT going to give up!

Looking a little bored:

The boys took their turns being little kids again:

Hudson was getting a little tired of the boat and was happy when Papa came to "rescue" him. They rode around for a couple minutes and then went back to the house to play.

Love these two jumping pictures!

We all went home Sunday evening and it is apparent that the day was fun! We all had a great time and very few fits were thrown (until it was time to leave). Oscar, who had the time of his life even said, "this is the worst day ever" when he was told he had to leave. Ha!

I did a little comparison photo here. The top row is of Holland and Hadley at 1 year old and 6 years old. The bottom row is of the girls 4 years later. The bottom left pic is the first time Holland came to the lake and they were both 2 years old. Such sweet, cute friends!
