4th of July

With the 4th falling on a Thursday this year we decided to spend the day at home and head to the lake on Friday. We had a full day planned of swimming at the Rose Creek pool in the morning, Jane and John's pool in the afternoon, and then coming back to our house to watch fireworks from our back porch. Our neighborhood pool was packed and the kids played their little hearts out. They had all kinds of games for the kids including a money drop where they separated the kids into age groups and threw a bunch of coins into the pool. The kids got to jump in, dive for coins, and keep the money they collected. After leaving the pool we decided the kids needed to nap to be able to make it all night for fireworks. Unfortunately, Hudson needed much more sleep and didn't wake up in time to go to Jane and John's house so I stayed home with him while Matt met the rest of the family for more swimming.

Matt brought Hadley back to our house after Jane and John's began winding down so we could watch fireworks on our back patio. This is the 3rd year our clubhouse has put on a fireworks show by private donations and they didnt fail to impress once again. Last year, some on duty firemen told us it was the biggest display in the city and this year seemed just as big. Kristin, Brian, Story and Teddy came over as well as Ryan, Lisa, and Buck, Mama and Papa, and Lolly and Pops. We had a great time and the kids did great considering the fireworks didn't even start until close to 10pm!
