After spending the fourth at home, we wanted to spend the rest of the weekend at the lake. The weather was perfect and we had a great time relaxing with family. We spent lots of time on the water and are thankful that the water is up a lot from last year. This drought is slowly recovering and even after no water and then the tornado, everything is starting to look pretty again!
Hudson found a mud pit that was made by the people fixing our dock and he had a blast playing in it. His all boy personality truely came out and he was in heaven playing all by himself!
Trying to scare the girls....
Hadley trying to wash off the mud in the lake and showing me she had almost gotten it all.
I had the idea of buying the girls some trainer skis to try and teach them to ski this weekend. It didn't quite go so well and we may have tried a little too early. But at least they gave it their best effort and tried to get up...even if it was only once!
Hudson is slowly phasing out naps and this is sad to me for its the only time of the day that I get anythign done around the house. Sweet boy is an incredible sleeper...after he is asleep. But I think he is so terrified of missing out on something that he will hardly let himself fall asleep. Here is my attempt at taking a nap WITH him which quickly ended when he only wanted to play peek-a-boo.
Hudson's very favorite thing to do at the lake is ride on the polaris. Its the first thing he wants to do when he gets out of the car as soon as we arrive at the lake and anytime he is upset he quickly cheers up if you go for a ride. Ryan took both of the boys for a quick ride and Hudson was so worried about Buck falling out! It was the sweetest thing to watch Hudson's death grip on Buck and he was concentrating so hard that he could hardly smile for a picture.
Taking my little man for a ride on the kids four wheelers. It won't be long before he is driving this all by himself!
Little naked boy loving not having to wear a diaper!
After a full day outside we rested with some coloring and ice cream inside.
Love, love, love this girl and all her poses.
Hudson is still in a crib at home and even though we have a crib at the lake there is no possible way we are going to get him to sleep in it so instead Matt slept with Hadley on the futon in the living room and Hudson slept with me in our bed. This is the sweet, sleepy face I woke up to the next morning. It was pretty fun to cuddle with him all night.
We started day 2 bright and early on the lake.
Buck was apparently ready for a nap and a quick ride on the polaris knocked the poor kid out!
Cheerleading stunts with daddy in the water...
What's the lake without watermelon?
Tire swings with Daddy...
"Mom, I know I am all bathed and clean but I really just want to get back in that mud pile!"
This pouty picture was taken after her skiing attempt!
Throwing rocks at mommy:
Ah, the smell and look of clean, sun-kissed kids after a day in the lake...
Baseball and rough-housing with Uncle Ryan:
All set up to watch fireworks and then time for bed. We had such a great weekend at the lake, as always!
