Kanakuk Kampout

I was giddy the entire weekend before Hadley's first week at Kanakuk Kampout. Kanakuk has been around for many years in Branson, MO and has a name for being an incredible Christian camp. I was able to go for one week when I was in 6th grade but I have no idea when I will feel comfortable sending Hadley off! So Matt (who also attended Kanakuk) and I were so excited to find out that Kanakuk now has a traveling camp that goes to selected churches throughout the Midwest and puts on a "taste of Kanakuk" experience. Thankfully, one of those churches is Faith Bible Church in Edmond and so we quickly signed Hadley up. I think Hadley was so excited because she saw how excited we were for her to go! She also had two of her friends from school, Maddy and Prestyn, as tentmates so that made it even more fun. Hadley had a blast! It was a long camp (from 8-4) and she never once complained about being tired. She would wake up early in the morning just so excited to go back. They had ziplines, waterfights, rock climbing walls, learned camp songs, had bible studies, and learned to work as a team. Hadley would come home singing the songs, especially "Little Sally Walker" and loved teaching them to us. She had such a great week and can't wait to go back next year.

Checking in:

Hadley and her friend, Prestyn, after the first day of camp. They look exhausted!

Closing ceremonies. Matt and I took off work a little early so we could be there and it was fun to see a recap of all they had done that week. Hadley made lots of new friends!

Love this picture of Hadley and her sweet friends, Prestyn and Maddy.

Hadley loved Molly and would talk about her everyday. She was upset on the way home the last day because she said she was going to miss Molly so much. During the ceremony the tent leaders gave each girl an award based on their weeks experience. Molly awarded Hadly the 110% award! She said Hadley came in each day with a smile on her face and ready to go. She tried her hardest and participated in every activity and was full of energy until the minute they were dismissed. We are so proud of her and love that we can send her just about anywhere and know that she will have fun!
