Hadley got her ears pierced!

For Hadley's 4th birthday she only wanted one present...to get her ears pierced. So we talked with her about it and made sure she understood what would be involved, especially that she would have to let us clean them twice a day. We decided on a day and then she had her 4 year well-child checkup with her pediatrician. She got four shots and as we left the office she said, "I don't think I want to get my ears pierced."

Fast forward 3 months and we are at her soccer game where her friend is wearing Hello Kitty earrings. Hadley immediately runs up to us and says, "I REALLY want those earrings!" Once again she is ready and we told her if she still wanted to get them pierced the next day we would do it. Sunday morning she woke up at 6:00 dressed and ready to go! So after church we headed to the mall and she proudly told the lady that she wanted the Hello Kitty earrings.

Here she is watching everything get set up. Oh, and she got to pick out her own outfit for her special day!

The picture doesn't show the tears that started to fill her eyes. She was nervous but sat as still as a statue!
Right as they were pierced. She didn't even flinch (sadly mommy's knees were weak)!
Proud and still a little in shock. She was such a big girl and didn't shed a single tear. She even said it didn't hurt.

After the mall we decided to spend the afternoon at the park and enjoy the great weather. Here are a few pictures. Hadley immediately found a friend to play with and Hudson spent the entire time climbing up and down stairs and curbs. We love spending all this time outside!
