Kanakuk Day Kamp and Camp Crossings

Hadley was so excited for her 3rd year of Kanakuk Kampout at Faith Bible church. It was even more exciting this year as she knew many of the kamp songs and chants. Unfortunately, Hudson was a couple months shy of being able to go but he was such a good sport about it and was excited to do his own camp instead.

We dropped Hadley off Monday morning and she was happy to be in a tent with Reese and Holland. It was a hot week but it didn't seem to slow them down at all and Hadley had so much fun, once again! This ended up being an extra special week for her as she was awarded the Bumblebee award the second day which is given to the camper that encourages others and helps make them feel comfortable. Then on Wednesday she was given the Hype Award for being the most excited and hyped up camper. It was so fun to have her come home each day with such a happy face!

Friday was closing ceremonies where we got to see all they had done for the week. After a video and lots of songs we met with their tent group for awards. Hadley was chosen for the "I'm Third" award which is given to the camper that puts God first, others second, and themself third. It is the most special award that Kanakuk gives out and I was so proud to see her receive it. The funny thing is that she would have been happy with any award and didn't even realize how special it was which made it even better! We are so proud of the young girl she has become.

Hudon's camp didn't have a parent day so I don't have any pictures but this one from drop off with most of his buddies. Hudson went to a "lets go camping" camp where they learned all about the great outdoors and what it is like to go camping. He had so much fun and couldn't wait to go back each day!
