4th of July weekend

I guess the excitement of the 4th and everyone coming down to the lake kept us all from sleeping in! We were all up early and it didn't take long for the girls to have the gymnasics mat down on the grass practicing cartwheels and backbends. They boys were quick to ask for rides on the four-wheelers. Hudson even learned how to ride on it by himself (only for a couple minutes)!

All dressed and ready for guests. Daddy was there before long and the kids were so excited to see him. We had on our 4th swimsuits and lots of red, white, and blue!

Everyone has arrived! To sum up the day we played a lot outside, took many boat rides, tube rides, seadoo rides, canoe rides.....
The kids laughed and played and all had so much fun together. We had a couple little rain showers which were actually nice to cook down the afternoon and give us a break from the sun. We ate snacks only to eat more snacks while waiting for dinner to get ready.

The kids seemed most excited about the water balloon fight after the fun we had a couple weekends ago. We filled up the balloons, took our places, and the fight began. A lot bigger this time and so much fun. We had lots of laughs watching the kids go after each other and then go after all the dads. These pictures are definitely some of my favorites!

How many people can we fit on the pontoon?!

Sweet Ellis just couldn't stay awake any longer and took a good, long nap while we enjoyed a cook out over at Erin's house. The food was yummy and the company was even better. So much fun to have everyone together. Matt and I got the best of both worlds getting to be with both families.

A pretty shower came through while we finished the cookout but cleared right back off for us to play some more. Playing on the swingset, duck duck goose, and even a game of tag.

Time for some big fireworks set off by Ryan and Papa. No disappointment once again though the kids seemed to tire of them a little faster this time. They really loved the sparklers but after some watching some big fireworks, they just wanted to play inside together instead!

Sloan, Peyton, and Hadley stayed at our house as well as Hudson, Buck, and Gunner. Davis, Ellis, Abby, and Katie spent the night at Erin's house.  Once again we were up and ready to go early the next morning. Back on the boat....this time with a little more sunscreen and some hats to help as well.
A little more daring on the tube this time around but as seen by the last pic...a little more exhausted too. We had a great weekend with family and love that we all get to spend time together. AND very thankful God has provided us with so much rain that our time on the lake together is that much more enjoyable!
