Sleigh rides and cookies with Santa

Matt was out of town and so I decided to surprise the kids with a fun Friday. Our neighborhood offered sleigh rides through the neighborhood to see the Christmas lights followed by hot chocolate, cookies, and pictures with Santa. I bought tickets for the kids and didn't tell them we were going until they were all dressed and we were walking out the door. They were so excited!

While were were waiting on the horses to get ready we grabbed some hot chocolate inside to take with us. It was freezing out so we had blankets but I really didn't prepare us quite well enough.

The kids were so amazed at the size of the these horses. I'm not sure they have ever seen a Clydesdale so it was a fun sight for them. The one on the right was young so the lady kept telling them to stay on this side which made all 3 of us question getting close period! The carriage ride was so fun. I hope Rose Creek residents always take pride in decorating their houses because it was so pretty to see all the lights.

As soon as we got off the carriage we took a quick picture with Santa and then had to run out for Hudson's basketball game. It was a busy night and they were easy to get in bed. Hudson even put on his Santa hat right after his game and slept in it all night.
