Cuddles on the couch before bedtime are hard to beat. As well as breakfast dates.
We are still so excited when Kristin comes in town and we get to see her, Lennox, and Ledger. We miss Kristin like crazy and but it makes my heart so happy to see her love on my kids even when she hasn't seen them in a few months.
We went about 9 years without Bauer getting on any furniture. Suddenly, he eased his way onto the couch and I didn't have the heart to push him down. Now its become HIS spot. I can hardly even remember the days of him not cuddling on the couch with us! But this was an unexpected sight and it just made me giggle! Hudson sleeps with Hadley in her room and Hadley sleeps in her trundle. After the kids had gone to bed I went up to find Bauer laying in bed with them. I could not quit laughing and I know the kids would have LOVED to know he was sleeping with them for a little bit.
Sweet friends swimming at the OCGCC pool. We have gone with the Fares once each summer and its always such a fun time for the kids. Hudson loves getting to jump off the diving board and they both played with lots of friends this year. The club has the most comfy chairs in the shade and its such a relaxing afternoon! Hudson plays SO hard that each year we haven't been able to keep him awake once we get back in the car. And you know he's tired, because he does NOT fall asleep easily in the car.
Diamond Divas softball party at the Martin's house. Love all these sweet girls jumping on the trampoline and being silly. This team has such a fun, laid back dynamic and its fun to get to see Hadley play on a team with very little competition as well. And I love for her to get to spend time with her school friends outside of school as well.
For as little practice as these girls get, they are all pretty impressive at making contact with the ball. They ended up losing only 1 game and it was a forfeit for not having enough players! In this league Hadley mainly plays pitcher and 3rd base and I think she loves being able to switch it up. Another fun season.
Life Church "At the Movies." We always love going to Life Church in July when they decorate all their campuses in different themes and we get to hear sermons based off movies. This year it was Jungle Book at the campus near us. The kids thought the decorations were pretty cool and realistic enough to even make Hudson a little nervous.
We've spent lots of time outside watching movies, jumping on the trampoline, riding bikes, and swimming. It's been a pretty mild summer so far and I love that Hadley has been able to get so much use out of her trampoline. She's also working up a little nerve to try some new tricks!
Basketball camp pic at Crossings. Hudson and Will went together and Hudson is on the front row, 2nd from the left. He seemed to really like it and is starting to gain a little bit of basketball confidence.
We went to White Water with Sarah, Will, and Ben and had the best time. The kids had so much fun together and everyone could ride just about every slide. It was also fun because Sarah said Will is typically scared of everything and Hudson helped him get through some of those nerves to try some new slides. They climbed the Bermuda Triangle a million times to the point that my legs were shaking on the last time up. I love having these days with the kids and with summer coming to a close it makes me really sad!
Katie came in town for a week with Lolly and spent some time with us as well. After we got home from White Water we picked Katie and went to dinner at the mall and a short shopping trip before watching a movie. Katie is always so sweet and Hadley loves getting to spend time with her!
A little softball practice with Daddy in the driveway. How cute is that new haircut in her pigtails?!
Anna's last day of babysitting before going back to school at OSU. We have a new sitter starting next week to finish us up but the kids loved getting one last picture with Anna.
And for some random pics....Hudson cuddling with me in front of the tv, a birthday party for a friend of Hadley's at a bowling alley where Hudson and Oscar showed me their tough faces and Hadley played with friends, a girly bubble bath and mask, and swimming twins...
This goofball took this picture on her polaroid and I about died when I saw it. She totally looks like teenager! And then, that night before bed, she was her silly self while I tried to take her picture and it relieved me that she still acts 9!
Love that this girl is starting to really enjoy reading, especially independently. I am so impressed at how far she has come and her determination to be a good reader.
Another belt test in the books for Hudson. He's now up to his yellow belt with two orange tips which means he will test for his orange belt next time. This is a BIG stepping stone at his academy and he is getting really excited for it!
Ryan and Lisa are scrambling to get all packed and ready to move out of their house. I know it has to be crazy hard with a couple little ones so we decided to take Buck and Gunner off their hands for a few hours so they could pack. We went to the park for a long time and when they were finally worn out we stopped for lunch at McDonalds. I think we got them home just in time for naps!
Lots of swimming at the pool this summer and its awesome having two completely independent swimmers! That picture of the two of them gets me every time I look at it. They are so big!
Cuddles on the couch with Bauer...just one to add to the bookfull of pictures I could make with the two of them.
Hadley and her sleepovers. She sure will be sad when the summer is over! We love having Reese and Lottie over. These girls always have such a fun time together!
