Hadley's sick day...but some sweet things to remember!

So Hadley woke up at 4am sick and throwing up. She was absolutely devastated. Not because she didn't feel well...but because she knew she was not going to get the perfect attendance award this year. In fact, she was in the middle of throwing up the second time when she said, "Mommy, I really think i will feel good enough to go to school." She has talked about it a million times this semester already and she was so determined. Because this girl never gets sick I really thought she would do it but it just wasn't in the plans.

So Hadley had a sick day at home and at 6:30 in the morning I was scrambling to figure out how today was going to work out. Thankfully, our babysitter is amazing and even at 32 weeks pregnant she was still willing to take care of our sick daughter until I could come home for lunch. I had a 2.5 hour lunch and then Mama came over to take care of her in the afternoon. She even got spoiled by Mama who brought her a get well toy!

So the sweet things that happened today...

-as Hadley was throwing up at 4am Hudson woke up to the commotion and came in the bathroom to see what was going on. When he saw Hadley was sick he just stood behind her and rubbed her back to make sure she was ok.

-Hadley cried and cried when I left for work which I absolutely hated but I love knowing that as quickly as she is growing up there are still times that she just really needs me.

-When I came home for lunch I got a text from Hadley's teacher telling me that the entire class had prayed for Hadley to feel better soon. Telling this to Hadley brought a huge smile to her face and instantly made her feel a little bit better.

-I went back to work and came home to find Hadley still laying on the couch and Hudson was showing her all his toys. He was being extra sweet to her when he is typically so rough and tumble!

-Hudson loves to get the mail with me and so we walked outside together. Lately, we have been getting a lot of toy catalogs and he always wishes for one when he opens the mailbox. Today he said, "I hope there a boy magazine in there for me. And a girl one for sissy because she the best sissy in the whole world."

- After Hadley was feeling much better we got in the bath. I didn't want the kids taking a bath together so Hadley took a bath and Hudson just talked to her. I walked in to him telling her that God made her better because he is the strongest in the whole world and  he has potions to make her better. Ha! Potions? And he said he prayed for her to get better.

- Finally, as the kids looked through the catalogs they would circle things they liked. After each thing that Hudson circled he would look into the sky and say, "God, can I please have this toy?" or "Santa, can I please have this toy?" It was really cute. Hadley even mentioned that she wanted this watch and Hudson looked up in the sky and said, "God, can my sissy please have this watch?" Then he turned to her and said, "OK, you will get it now!"

OSU Homecoming

We were able to snag a couple extra tickets so that we could take Hadley and Hudson to OSU's homecoming. Unfortunately, it was such a crazy day and we had to split up. Hadley had a soccer game at 9 and then a birthday party at 10:30 so we didn't make it to Stillwater until about 1:30 and the game started at 2:30. It didn't leave us any time to walk around and see all the "decks." But Matt and Hudson were able to go down early and Matt said Hudson just loved getting to see everything! He said that's the way to win the kids over so the go to OSU...take them to homecoming.
Once Hadley and I got there we met up with the Hollomans at their tailgate and visited a bit before heading inside the stadium so we could eat before gametime. It was a busy game! The club seemed more packed than usual but it didn't even phase the kids. Oh, and for October 25th we had record highs in the upper 80s. So that made even more people want to sit inside. We all had a great time. Hadley has learned a lot about the rules of football and what the teams are trying to accomplish,
and we left with two tired kiddos. We ate a lot (probably the kids favorite part) and loved spending the day as a family together. Here are some of our pictures from the day:

CCS Homecoming

The day before Homecoming CCS Varsity cheer hosted a cheer clinic for the pre-k through 3rd graders. The girls learned a cheer and then got to perform it at the Homecoming game. Hadley was so excited and couldn't wait to get out there in front of everyone. Charlotte's mom was out of town so she came home with us and I got the girls ready to leave. I took a few pictures of them before we left for the game. Even Hudson wanted to get into the pictures!

Once we got to the game we met up with all our friends and the girls made their way down to the field to sit on the sidelines and wait their turn to cheer. In the meantime, we sat on the bleachers entertaining 3 wild little boys...

Yay! Halftime show begins! The girls are all lined up and ready to take their places on the field.

A little chaotic start but for only 2 hours of practice the girls did really well! Hadley had a great, big smile on her face the entire time and I know she had a blast!

This was the first year for CCS to let the little girls perform at a halftime show on the new field. It was a fun experience and Hadley already says she wants to do it again next year!

Pumpkinville

We had today off for Fall Break as well so I got to enjoy another great day with the kids. Jessica called and asked our plans and we decided it would be fun to have lunch together and then head downtown to "Pumpkinville." I had heard great things about how pretty it was and we were excited to check it out. 

We ate lunch at Chick-fil-A first and then got to Pumpkinville about 1. It was hot! pretty unusual for the middle of October in Oklahoma but I am still enjoying the warm weather. It was unfortunate it was such a warm day though because it was even prettier than I had anticipated and I could have gotten some great fall pictures of the kids if they had been dressed for it. 

The kids had a great time. There were all sorts of activities including the regular park stuff. They also got to paint a pumpkin, go "fishing", make spider jewelry, and play games such as: tic-tac-toe, bowling, cornhole, and musical tiles (all with pumpkins involved). It was a fun day and something I look forward to again next year.
