Family Fun Night

We LOVE our neighborhood. Not only are there so many kids for Hadley and Hudson to play with, but Rose Creek always puts on family functions so everybody can bring the kids, eat dinner, and hang out for a while. Tuesday night they hosted Family Fun Night which was even better than expected. They hired Spaghetti Eddie to come play, Rumble showed up on the Thunder bus, the kids got their faces painted, a snow cone bus was in the parking lot (and Hadley ate 3), and there was more than enough food and drinks! Hadley and Hudson were exhausted at the end of the night...

Picture of Spaghetti Eddie playing and Hadley dancing to the music with a few friends.

Hudson loved listening to the music:

Here are a couple pictures of Hadley and her friend Jack. He is the sweetest boy and in her class at preschool.
Hadley was so excited to take a picture with Rumble! We even have it framed in her room now.

Poor Baby!

I spoke too soon by claiming we have the healthiest kids!

We have had a strange last month. It started about 3 weeks ago with a VERY fussy baby. He wanted to be held, then wanted down, then up and so on...crying no matter what we did. The only thing that would consistently make him happy was going outside. He was pulling on his ears and screaming during the night. He had no fever, no runny nose, and no cough. I thought surely an ear infection (even thought he hadn't even been sick) and took him to the doctor. Nope....clear ears. So we took him home and I continued to think I was crazy for "knowing" something was wrong.

Fast forward a couple weeks with a baby that is still crying constantly and still showing no symptoms other than pulling at his ears. Finally, on Saturday we were at home when suddenly Hudson couldn't walk, crawl, or hardly sit up. We could tell he was so dizzy. So we took him to the afterhours clinic where they determined he had ALOT of fluid in his ear from, most likely...allergies. SERIOUSLY, he has been hurting for 3 weeks and I was probably just making it worse every time I took him outside. I am still not convinced its allergies but either way the dose of steroids has helped and a daily dose of Claritin is being given as well. We are well on our way to a happy baby again and that makes for happy parents too! We finally got a full nights sleep last night and I don't feel like I have a newborn all over again!

Here are some pictures during one of my "sick days" with Hudson while Hadley was at school. Not the most accurate because I was actually able to get some smiles for some of the pictures...

How to disassemble a diaper...

by: Hudson Holloman

First, find the velcro tabs...
Get one side off...

Then the other...
And pull hard...
Freedom.
"Look what I did sissy!"
-I love Hadley's face. She was screaming, "Mommy, Hudsons NAKED!!!"

Hadley's first soccer game!

Yesterday was Hadley's first soccer game. She is playing on the Crossings league and she had a blast. It was nearly impossible to find shorts that don't fall off of her but a little rolling of the waist on these shorts and they stayed up, thankfully.
Yep, a red jersey and hot pink shin guards. It was a challenge enough to talk her out of "go pokes" (orange) shorts so we compromised with the pink shin guards.

Getting a little practice in.
Bubby came to cheer her on.
"Mommy and Daddy made me come out here too early so I got to have some Starbucks coffee!" Well, maybe just an empty cup but it did entertain him for a bit.

A few "drills" before the game.Getting some advice from Coach Craig

She went right in for the ball!

Hadley and Hollands fan club.

EXHAUSTION!
So I can say it is a great thing we didn't keep score this first game! Well, maybe Matt did and I think it was somewhere around 10-2. Ha! I love how kids could not care less though and Hadley just had fun running around with her friends and chasing the ball.

Disney on Ice - Toy Story

Matt and I planned a date night with our daughter to her very first Disney on Ice. She loves Toy Story and was so excited to go to "Disney World Ice Skate." I bought her a Toy Story shirt and she picked out her outfit from there...jean skirt, cowboy boots, and of course, she had to have her hair in a braid so she could look like Jessie. Here are some pictures we took before we left. You can just see the excitement on her face!

And then she had to start being silly like every other time I put the camera in front of her:

Ryan, Lisa, and Peyton met us at the fair and we had a few hours before the show started. It was actually pretty cold (57 degrees) so we tried to do a lot of stuff indoors. The first building had a lot of baby farm animals and Hadley and Peyton got to be "farmers." Here they are planting their seed.
And now putting the eggs in her basket. She also got to pick apples, potatoes, and carrots. She then took them to a register, was paid for her crops, and got a ribbon. She thought it was so much fun!

Taking a picture with the Alpacas:

She kept looking behind her because she thought they were going to eat her shirt.

Peyton was a little nervous too.

Loving the pony rides! One of the ponies started acting a little crazy and the owner tried to make an excuse by saying he wasn't used to the commotion. Um, don't you think the fair might not be the best place for this pony?

The camel may have been the hit of the night.

Next we went to a tent where the girls could feed the animals.

I have no idea what this animal was but he was so funny and I had to take a picture. His teeth wouldn't even go in his mouth...

Feeding a zebra.
She loved feeding the goats. While we were feeding them we noticed a momma feeding two babies and there was blood all over the hay. The owner said they had just been born about an hour before we got there!

Showing off her super-long corndog

Peyton is ready for the show to start!

Just a few pictures from the show. Not the best but you can get the idea.

We had a great time and Hadley was asleep before we were even out of the parking lot. Can't wait to go again next year!
