A busy 4th of July weekend

Even with the 100+ degree heat, we had another great holiday. We just wanted to spend most of it in the water! This year we had a lot of family in town and ended up with over 30 people at the lake house. And 13 of those were kids under 7. This meant lots of food, boat rides, and laughing. Unfortunately I don't have a bunch of pictures once everyone got there because it got so hectic that I just kind-of forgot about my camera. But here are some that I did catch:

Peyton and Hadley sitting on the dock at sunset. You can't really tell by the picture here but our lake is suffering from the lack of rain this year. In fact, if we don't get a big rain pretty soon we may have to take the boat off water because our cove is getting so shallow. This is definitely a disappointment since we just sold our boat and bought a new one only 1 week ago!

Filling up the baby pool for Hudson

Bauer and Bentley got to come with us this weekend and they were in heaven! By the end of the weekend they couldn't even pick themselves off the floor.

Hudson, our monkey, climbed all over this diner the entire weekend. Anytime we couldn't find him inside he was playing inside this sink or trying to get on the very top.

On the boat and ready to go...

LOVE this bottom!
Ryan and Peyton on the seadoo. This little girl has no fear on this thing. She drives it, steers, and goes full throttle! I wish I had gotten a picture but Hadley drove the seadoo all by herself for the first time this weekend with Matt only sitting on the back. She was so proud of herself.

At one point we anchored the boat and Matt dove in to swim for a minute while I sat in the boat with Hadley and Hudson. Bauer decided to dive in right after him! Problem with this is boxers are a breed known to not be able to swim well. So after a couple minutes of unsuccessful dog paddling Bauer quickly wore out and left Matt (with no lifejacket) trying to heave him back on the boat. Matt got him back to safety with lots of scratches on his chest and Bauer decided that was the last time he would try that!

Lisa, Peyton, and Ryan ready to go tubing.

Now our turn. Not much longer and we will have to make room for a fourth...

Should we be embarrassed that our 4-year-old looks to be in complete control while her parents legs are flailing and her mom is about to fall off the tube?

Abby, Katie, and Peyton playing in the water

Taking a break from the water.

Hudson and his cousing Kase.

Getting ready for fireworks.

Ryan puts on quite an impressive fireworks show. In fact, so impressive that the Shawnee police came and informed us we had to shut it down. Guess we will have two grand finales next year!

My buddies:

Erin had a wedding shower on Sunday so we left the lake and came back to Edmond to celebrate with her. It was a wonderful shower and she got some great stuff. Of course, all the little girls had to help her open the presents. Here is "E" with her girls:

Chaney, Amy, Lisa, and me at the shower:

Then that evening we had a personal shower for Erin. This is actually the only picture that I have but it was such a fun night. Only one more week and Erin will be a bride!

Our busy summer continues. Only a couple more weeks and I think it may calm down for us a little bit...
