Seeking Sissy

Hudson truly misses Hadley whenever she is gone. He looks for her first when he wakes up from his nap and if you ever ask him, "Where's sissy?" he walks all over the house looking for her. He loves sitting in the carpool line at preschool and watching for her make her way out to the car.

Maybe he loves her so much because she dotes over him all the time! She chases him, feeds him, plays trucks with him, rolls balls back and forth, dresses him, and tickles him until he laughs so hard he almost cries:


But the nightly baths are my favorite time! They sing, splash, laugh, and share toys. Here they are in the bathtub the other night when Hudson insisted on sitting in Hadley's lap during bathtime. She loved it as much as he did!

There is one thing I am exceptionally good at...getting my kids out of a funk pretty fast. I can turn around an attitude pretty quickly (without giving in to why they were being disciplined in the first place). Anyway, Hadley was trying to be upset in the bathtub earlier and that was the best pout she could muster up!

Minutes later she was happy as can be while cuddling her Rapunzel dolls!

I really can't stand the song but Hadley wanted to put on a show for me and I thought it was pretty hilarious so I just had to post it. Hudson had to join in on the fun. Being the wonderful sissy she is, she didn't even get angry with him and let him play along instead.

My favorite part is that she says "extension" instead of "attention." And its just one of those things I can't bring myself to correct!

Future cheerleader?

Hadley went to an OSU game with her daddy and she thinks she found her calling! Towards the end of the game she kept asking Matt if they could leave so she could go home and put on her cheerleading outfit. When she walked in the door she immediately ran upstairs to find it (only to be disappointed that she has grown out of it). Ever since, she walks around doing cheers and says she is going to be a cheerleader and a mommy when she grows up!

Myriad Gardens

Some more beautiful weather has made Hadley convinced it's summer. So when Matt and I decided to take Hadley, Hudson and Peyton to the park they came out in summer outfits.

We went to the new park at the Myriad Gardens. In November the Myriad Gardens/park re-opened after a $14 million renovation. It was nothing like any park the kids had been to before and they loved it.

Hard to tell from the picture but this was a large "bowl" and there were about 3 for the kids to climb in and out of. Hadley's head was almost level with the ground.

Thankfully, Hadley doesn't get motion sickness as easily as me!

Hudson could not have cared less about most of the toys. He would rather play with the leaves and in the dirt...

Hudson's half birthday

Hudson is 18 months old and what better way to celebrate than a day outside and a zoo trip. Hudson hadn't been to the zoo yet and it was pure excitement as soon as we walked in the gates. His favorite animals: the fish, the rhinos, the goats, and the elephants. When he saw the rhinos he started screaming and reaching his hands over the rails to get to them. Hadley loved the wonderful new elephant exhibit and the monkeys but was otherwise a little unimpressed by the animals. She would rather run around and play on the playground and play with other kids.


Here we are after about an hour into our zoo trip. Yes, we have a double stroller but I thought Hadley wouldn't sit in it and Hudson would. Instead, neither of them wanted in it or both wanted in it. Thankfully, Hadley was sweet enough to let Hudson sit in her lap.

And just a couple more pictures of our growing boy! His favorite snack right now is pistachios. We always have a bowl full on our counter and he will fuss until he gets up there to eat them. He has even learned how to crack some of the shells and get the nut out.

Here is his latest trick. Bathtime used to be a breeze and because he loves it so much we would often take a couple baths a day. Today, Hadley was in the bath with him and as I was putting stuff up on my counter and Matt was in the closet he decided to climb up into the windowsill. He thought it was the most hilarious thing and it took lots of "no's" to finally get him to quit getting up there. Unfortunately, we now have to go through this EVERY time we take a bath! Such a monkey!!!

Dave and Busters

Matt and I took Hadley on a date to the newly opened Dave and Busters to eat and play lots of games. We met E, Tim, Lexi, and Jase; Ryan, Lisa, and Peyton; and Carrie, Mash, Gracie, Will, and Luke. I was a little worried the kids would be too young but they still had a blast. Matt got suckered into one of those claw games where you drop it down and try and pick up a toy. It was an oversized one and about $15 later we finally won Hadley a huge stuffed animal dog that she actually wasn't even that excited about! We had a fun night out and hopefully Hudson can go next time...
