We actually had a warm enough day in February to be able to put to use Hadley's new lemonade stand. Of course, this meant we had to have a friend over to help! Surprisingly, the kids ended up making $8....all out of sympathy and cuteness, I'm sure!
With Valentine's coming up the kids are in such a loving spirit. So much that they sat all afternoon making Valentines to take to friends at school, for the dogs, and for Mommy and Daddy. Matt and I each found our Valentines on the bed that night and they were precious but I really giggled when I walked out to see Bauer sleeping in his bed with a Valentine laying across his back.
The day came for Hudson to finally ask for a haircut. I love his signature hairstyle but he really wanted "spiky hair." It took me a couple weeks to warm up to it but I gave in. I about died as the hair fell to the ground but I LOVE his new haircut... other than how much older it makes him look! And everyone has told him that as well so I'm sure it'll never be back to the old hairstyle. On the way home he started crying because he was so itchy from all the hair so we had to pull over on the side of the road and strip off all his clothes just to make it 5 more minutes down the road.
Hadley's class has this app call Seesaw where they can upload projects created at school for us to see. Some are made for fun during free time and some are created as actual assignments. It's always fun to see a notificatin come across my phone for me to look. This one made me giggle....They were studying Martin Luther King, Jr. and were supposed to fill in their own quote. In case it can't be read Hadley wrote, " I have a dream...that Taylor Swift can come to my birthday party." I'm not sure that was the answer the teacher was hoping for but at least she was being honest.
Hadley was playing in a basketball game and Hudson was playing with Oscar under the bleachers. They were laughing and having the best time until we hear some loud crying that I immediately recognized as Hudsons. He was covering his head with his hand and as soon as we moved it away blood covered his face. It was dripping down his cheek, on his shirt, on the ground, and his hair was covered. Matt scooped him up and started splashing him off with water in the bathroom to identify where the cut was and how bad it was. Thankfully, it must have just hit a little vessel because the cut ended up only being about half an inch long and as soon as we put some pressure on it the bleeding stopped. He was so tough and didn't even completely freak out when he saw blood pouring down his face!
Hadley spent the night with Lottie and Kristin sent me this text message. It definitely may be one of my favorite conversations of all time...
Hudson loves to do his own "homework" since Hadley seems to get so much attention over hers.
We celebrated Erin's birthday at Top Golf. Hadley was at a slumber party and was sad to miss but it was kind of last minute and we had already made a commitment. Hudson loved hitting some balls and having fun with Jake, Jase, and Lexi.
A couple pictures of Hudson with some buddies at a birthday party and Hudson watching the bigger kids at Karate while waiting for his turn.
We celebrated Mrs. Thornton's birthday and thankfully I was off and able to go. They gave her a gift card to Kendra Scott and we all had cookies. Such a sweet, fun class.
Hadley has asked me many times to cut her hair and we keep finding things to get in our way. It was a quick decision one day to stop by Snip-Its and get it done. This is definitely the shortest its been since she was probably 3 years old but I love it. She especially loves having no tangles and it being so soft. I do hope she doesn't love it so much that she doesn't want it long again because I really do think she has the prettiest long hair!
Sarah Baker has been such a lifesaver on a few of the Thursdays I've had to work. My mom has taken over and watched Hudson until summer but Sarah has taken him on a few days and given my mom a break (even though Hudson may be the easiest kid on the planet to babysit)! This day she took the boys to the zoo and they had the best weather and the best time. I especially loved getting pictures all day while I was working.
These three boys have become such great friends while watching their older sisters play softball. Their playing usually involves wrestling at games, playing catch, or taking turns on their moms phones.
The many positions Hudson can watch TV in...
Come to work with Mommy day! Susan had a meeting during the afternoon that she had to go to and it was a little last minute so rather than asking my mom or Lolly to watch Hudson, I decided we would try out an afternoon at work. I met Susan at Jason's Deli where Hudson and I had lunch. It was so fun to talk about his morning and he was on cloud 9 to be with me. Afterwards we went back to the office where he watched movies, built a mixel, played "dentist", and even got his first x-rays taken. We had such a fun afternoon together and he was so good during all the times I had to be with patients and out of the office.
Hudson's ready for his turn to finally play some baseball. He loved putting on his gear and practicing in the driveway with Hadley and Daddy. And I can't wait to watch some cute t-ball again!
This is one of my favorite stories of the month...Hadley and Hudson were invited to their friends, Grace and Cade, birthday parties. Cade and Hudson are close to the same age but Grace is about 18 months younger than Hadley. So when we got to the party Hudson had lots of friends there but Hadley only knew Grace. It became a really uncomfortable moment for her (which rarely happens) and she wasn't wanting to play. Sweet Hudson noticed she was sad, came up to her, and said, "Sissy, I will play with you the whole time. Just stay by me."
