We woke up exhausted from a fun night and while Hadley slept in this time, Hudson came with me to get my morning coffee. We sat in the Bean and played checkers until it was time to get Matt and Hadley for breakfast.
After eating breakfast we were going back to our room and it was just not in gunners plan. Instead of throwing a vocal fit he decided just to plop down and protest by playing dead. We went inside and changed to come out and find him still laying there! So, yes, we are all pretty exhausted by now...
After lunch we sat outside in one of the cabanas with one of the girls favorite counselors, Mary. We learned a little bit about her, sang some camp songs, and made plans to go back to the pool this afternoon. The pool was definitely one of the highlights of our trip and was especially perfect for our kids ages.
More waterfights, more slides, more wrestling, more fun!
After we got tired of swimming we dried off, got more ice cream (of course), and played checkers (on the chess board since I don't know how to play chess). This was a favorite activity of Hudsons.
We rested for a bit, went to dinner, and then had no plans for the evening. I think they knew everyone needed to recover from last night and they had something big planned for the last night. They did schedule a walk with Joe White where they split the children from the adults. The adults all sat in the chapel and listened to Joe as he talked about following Christ and leading our children to follow Christ as well. It was such a powerful, emotional night that I won't forget. The kids got the same talk by their counselors in a more child friendly manner. I think it was such a great way to end the week by helping us all realize the real reason we are here!
Afterwards we took the kids into the gym to play on all the inflatables they had set up for the evening. I think many people didn't even know they were there so we had the gym mostly to ourselves with only the counselors. It ended up being such a great night!
