What a busy, but fun, Easter! These first few pics are from our visit to see the Easter bunny. The kids were pretty excited this year and even Hudson wanted to sit on his lap (which is a first for the Easter bunny). In fact, I wasn't even sure we were going to attempt it but Hudson begged me one afternoon so we quickly got ready after school and hoped to get to the mall and a not-so-busy time. WE only had to wait about 5 minutes but in that time Hudson started to get a little anxious. Thankfully, our name was called before he backed out and he ended up plopping right up in his lap. We ended up getting a pretty cute picture and I'm pretty sure the only one we've ever gotten with both kids!
Easter morning surprised the kids with some exciting gifts from the Easter bunny. All things the kids had been asking for lately so we heard lots of squeals, oohs, and ahhs. Hudson was most excited about his transformer and Hadley, of course, loved her new stuffed animals and overnight bag. We actually avoided all candy this year (except gum) and each of their eggs were filled with coins. It was even more fun for them to put the money in their piggy banks.
After convincing them to stop playing with their new toys we all got dressed and ready for church. It ended up being really chilly and Hadley and I about froze to death but we had coordinating outfits and there was no changing our mind! :)
They were so sweet to each other all morning and I just couldn't quit taking pictures...
After church we met the Hollomans at the Beacon Club for our annual Easter brunch. The food was good as always and we left with full from dessert. It is so nice to finally have kids the age that they sit at the table and half way behave for an entire meal. We took lots of family pictures and all had a great time eating together.
Poor Hudson had a slight allergy attack right before we left and his eyes got so red and puffy. He looked like he had been crying in a few of our pictures.
Hadley and Hudson couldn't get over how high we were! They loved looking out at all the buildings and were even determined to find our house. Then they wanted to take a picture with all the buildings behind them.
After lunch we hurried down to the lake to meet up with the Adams family for Mama and Papa's annual Easter egg hunt. Once again, they put far more eggs out than the kids could possibly have needed. But, needless to say, the kids enjoyed every second of it (even in the cold weather) and loved collecting an entire basket full.
We all went inside to count our eggs and warm up! After everyone seemed satisfied Mama and Papa put out even more food and we ate our second lunch. Its hard to turn down yummy food at the lake. We had a great Easter with family and are so thankful to celebrate that Jesus died for us and then rose again!
