Hilton Anatole

Sarah told me that Bart had to go to Dallas for a work trip and that the Hilton Anatole had opened a new waterpark. We decided to join them for a fun weekend getaway and one last trip before school starts in a couple weeks. We got up early Saturday morning and made it to Dallas by noon. We checked in early at the hotel and were down at the pool in about an hour. The "waterpark" was fun with two slides, fountains, basketball goals in the water, a lazy river, and some play areas. We swam pretty much the entire afternoon and the kids loved it.

After we were all worn out from swimming we went back up to the room to change clothes and get ready for dinner. We ate at in-n-out (because a burger always sounds great after swimming) and then stopped for dessert at Sprinkles. I decided to forego a famous cupcake when I saw they had salted caramel ice cream! Huge mistake....it was soooo salty I could hardly eat it (but in their defense, the server had warned me and I didn't think it was possible). So I managed to not stuff myself which is a rare occasion when it comes to dessert. The kids loved their cupcakes and Matt got some cupcake/icecream combo that was delicious!

After dessert we went back to the hotel for movie night on the lawn. There was a huge gaming convention going on and we saw these creepy cookie monster and elmo guys on our way outside. Of course, the kids wanted a picture with them! We sat out on the lawn for a little bit, played with these glowing discs that Will and Ben had, and then called it a night.

The next morning Matt and Bart went to work out while Sarah and I took the kids to breakfast in the hotel...typical. We passed this statue (not even sure what it is) and the kids decided they needed to meditate in front of it! Ha! We went back to our rooms, changed into swimsuits, and swam some more before calling it quits to shower and pack up our rooms.

We made reservations at Medieval Times thinking the kids would have fun and none of us had been there. We pulled up and I really had no idea what to expect but had always heard it was a lot of fun.

They took our picture as we entered the castle and then they assigned us a Knight. We were given the Green knight. We walked around and looked at all the memorabilia they sell and then they opened the doors for us to go to our seats. It was so much fun inside. There was a huge arena, we had assigned seats, and they served all the foods without silverware. This may have actually become my favorite part of the whole trip!

So we put on our green crowns and the knights soon came out to perform for us and compete against each other. Hadley enjoyed the fun as the rest of us did but poor Hudson's competetive nature came out! He would cheer his little heart out when our knight was winning but it sure was the end of the world when he started losing. I have the best video of Hudson cheering so loud and at the last second our knight lost. Hudson burst into tears immediately and had us all trying not to laugh. Thankfully, our knight ended up coming in 2nd place overall and we all left in a great mood! Matt and I thought the food was great, Hadley ate most of what was served, and Hudson just liked looking at what was on the plate and hoping for something better with the next dish! I am so glad we went and would love to go again sometime...

We left straight from the restaurant to head back to OKC. Such a fun quick weekend with some great friends!
