April Pics

Some necessary Bauer cuddles when Mommy wakes you up for school and you just aren't ready yet!

This girl gives it all she's got in every single game and nothing will stop her from playing her hardest. These knees aren't from a softball game, rather they were a pool accident. But even with the pain it caused to bend them, she still wanted to play in her tournament and fought through it. Then a fall to the ground made them even worse but still didn't stop her. Such a tough girl!

Jake is 2! It has been a fast two years and he has such a fun personality to watch develop. We had a crazy weekend at Hadley's softball tournament and unfortunately her games fell right during Jake's party. Hudson and I at least got to stop by and celebrate the birthday boy. Hadley was super sad to miss but was thrilled when we showed back up at her game with a couple more fans (Abby and Katie). And it was even more exciting that they got to spend the night with us.

A great win called for some celebrating. It also made it even more fun to have your cousins there watching.  We got a team pic and then tried our best for an action/jumping shot. As can be seen, it didn't quite happen.

Last tournament day. So far we had lost our first game and won our next two. The girls won their first game at 1:00 and then we had a snocone break and rested in the tents for a couple hours before their next game. These may be some of my favorite times during tournaments. The kids forget any pressure put on them (I hate it that they feel any pressure at all) and they just have fun. They laugh, sing songs, and act silly....and I feel like thats what its all about anyway.

The girls ended up losing the 4:20 game putting us out of the tournament. But they played great. They lost to the Lady Crusaders which were unbeatable in this tournament! I am so proud of how Hadley played. She absolutely, does not back down from a ball. She took some hard line drives and grounders and made a couple outs at first. She has turned into a pretty solid second baseman and I LOVE watching her play and improve. All the girls seemed to hit well but if it didn't leave the infield there was no chance we were making it to first and thats where they finally got beat. A few tournaments down and a few more to go!

Another day with Susan and she is giving him drawing lessons. They have learned how to draw a tiger, lion, giraffe, and his name in bubble letters. Pretty fun to have such an artsy babysitter.

These next few pics...Hudson and Hadley sleeping on the couch. For Hadley, this isn't totally unusual. She loves to take quick naps and has no problem recognizing and admitting she is tired. Hudson, on the other hand, just doesn't let his eyes close. I was shocked to walk around the corner and see them both asleep. This is the time daddy was in Florida so I must have been wearing them out!

The next pic is of Hudson and his new sunglasses he picked out. He wanted me to take a pic and send it to daddy to show him that he can wear his sunglasses the same way as him.

And then, Hadley at Brooklyn's art birthday party. I was so impressed with Hadley's painting. She was so careful to make it exactly like she wanted and it turned out great! She definitely didn't get her artistic ability from me...

Hadley had Lottie over to play and I kept hearing them get in the crafts and looking for scissors. I just prayed they weren't doing something they shouldn't but let them just have fun. They came out of Hadley's room about an hour later with "kites" they had made out of paper, marker, tape, gift wrapping string, and toilet paper rolls. Pretty impressive and creative. The windy day outside even helped them fly a little bit.

Little brothers, and nephews at the ball park. Hadley sure does have quite the fan club (even if they aren't really paying attention!)

Hadley is absolutely the best big sister I could have ever imagined. And she eats it up when Hudson will let her read to him, cuddle with him, and mother him. And then there is the pic of me reading to the kids...by far my favorite time of the day!

My friends are the best. I have been in quite a bind a few times this year with sitters. I am so thankful that Sarah has often come to my rescue. This day she took Hudson with her after I dropped Hadley off at school. Hudson and Will went to gymnastics, the park, Pops for lunch, and Will's house to play. And I got to enjoy getting pictures all day while I was at work!

Matt's office celebrated his birthday with some Masters cookies. Love these!

A couple of pictures with Hudson and his building creations. He used his magnatiles to make a dog and  I was so impressed. He even did it all by himself and then wanted a picture of it.

Hadley has actually grown to like reading....sometimes. She has to have a book that really catches her attention but it sure made my day to walk outside while Hudson was doing Karate and see her reading a book by herself.

The kids had Western Day at school and we kinda forgot until the last minute. We came up with some pretty cute outfits though! Hudson thought it was really fun to get to wear daddy's vest (the same one Hadley wore for Western Day when she was in pre-k!)

It always makes me giggle when I look through my phone and get surprised with lots of silly selfie pictures!

Bauer had NEVER played fetch. If you throw a ball he will run to it, sniff it, and run away. So it was really strange when I was playing with the kids on the floor and Bauer walks up with a ball in his mouth and drops it on the floor in front of us. We decided to see what he would do if we threw it to him outside. He actually chased after it, grabbed the ball, and dropped it right in front of us to throw again. We probably played about 30 minutes and he was exhausted. However, I tried again the next day and he had nothing to do with it. So strange that at 10 years old he finally decided it would be worth playing fetch...for one day!

We have a coyote that is always walking behind our house in the mornings. It actually makes me happy we have a big dog but definitely makes me nervous when I see him out there. One morning I actually heard Bentley going crazy outside so I went to check it out. The coyote and Bentley were lunging at each other through the fence. Scared me to death and my screaming made the coyote run away.

Some grown up pictures of our boy! There is NO baby left in him anymore and it makes my heart hurt a little bit. Here are pictures of his sweet face sitting on the couch with me and then several from school while waiting on Hadley to get out. Hudson gets out a few minutes before Hadley and we love to sit on a bench in the hallway where he unpacks his backpack and tells me all about his day. He loves to show me every single picture. This particular day he had a picture that I thought was too cute...saying he needs to obey his dad!

Hadley had Mary Beth spend the night and they played outside before we went to Upper Crust for dinner. I got a few pictures....

Bedtime snuggles and selfies with my growing boy....
