It has been a fast and furious Christmas Eve. After getting in at 8:30 last night from St. Kitts, we unpacked as much as we could and prepared for the next two days. Thankfully, I had all the presents wrapped and ready to go before our trip! At 2:00 we got dressed and out the door for Crossings Christmas Eve service. It was a great service and I love getting to have the kids in there with us. Of course, their favorite part is the lighting of the candles! They were so good and I couldn't help but think of how much things have changed in the last couple years. Both of the kids sang all the Christmas Hymns with their whole heart and it was so sweet to watch them take it all in.
We left straight from service and went to Mama and Papa's house for our Christmas celebration there. We finally have all 5 kids able to take part in opening presents and though it was chaotic, it was so fun to watch all the excitement on their faces. The boys got all sorts of superhero, paw patrol, game stuff and the girls each got a hoverboard! Hadley also got a handmade lemonade stand her papa made for her and it will probably turn out to be her favorite present. She LOVES having lemonade stands! And beyond all that, we all had stockings full of money, gift cards, and more toys. Mama and Papa sure know how to spoil us!
We spent the night eating dinner, eating desserts, playing Left-Right-Center, and wrestling (a favorite for the boys). We rested on the couch and enjoyed time with family. Each Christmas gets better and better and we are so blessed to have such a wonderful family.
The kids are clearly not back on Oklahoma time yet! It was 9:00 when we left which felt like 11:00 to them. They passed out when we pulled out of the neighborhood and didn't even wake up as we slipped them into bed. Thankfully, we had changed into our Christmas pj's before we left. Off to bed for us as well, and excited to see what the morning holds for us!
