Hudson's 1st soccer season (or the first he actually played) and Hadley's 9th has come to an end. Hudson liked it much better this year but still doesn't understand the game well. He really wants to do well and gets upset when others score and he doesn't. At that point he would kindof shut down and not hustle his hardest. He did so much better his last couple games and we ended on a high his last game so I would say it was a pretty successful season for him. Hadley decided in the fall that it would be her last season with ESC. Although she was so good at soccer, the entire team had decided to get more competetive and her heart just wasn't in it. She decided she would rather play on the Crossings league with a few of her school friends. It was definitely a change in competition level. She did a great job and was often the star of the field but we sure did miss her team that she had been with for so long. In the end, she had an awesome season and scored several goals. She tried hard each game and really seemed to like it. I'll be interested to see what she decides to do next fall!
Here are some pictures of the kids last game. In the second picture Hudson was doing his bear immitation since he was on the Bears team. Hadley team was called the Flame.
Both kids were pretty pumped about the final season celebration in which they each got a soccer ball, medal, and breakfast after the game. The church even provided bounce houses for the kid as they do each year. This, in particular, is what may keep the kids coming back for more!
