Hudson's special fan

Hudson could not believe that told his teacher, Miss Mehlhaff, about his baseball game and she showed up to watch him play! He was all smiles the entire game. He watched her every move and I had to tell him to pay attention sometimes but he did great. He had two really good hits that she got to see and he couldn't wait to come give her a big hug when the game was over. Afterwards we had a few team pictures since everyone was at the game. 

We got home from the game and as I was getting some things ready for bed Hudson picked a card out of our drawer and climbed up to the counter to write Miss Mehlhaff a thank you note for coming to his game. All without even being told to. It was the most precious card. Sidenote: he brought her a starfish from our Seaside vacation and at the end of the card he wrote "You are welcome I gave you a starfish." Ha. I love this kid and his sweet, sweet heart.

Orr Family Farm

The Friday after we got home from our Fall Break trip we were already out of school again...this time for parent/teacher conferences. I had already done both kids conferences and was off work so I thought it would be fun to take the kids to the Orr Family Farm knowing everyone else was in school and it wouldn't be crazy crowded. We asked Peyton if she wanted to go too and the four of us got down there right about the time it opened. I was so wrong on it not being crowded. Apparently, several schools decided to have their field trips there on the same day! The line to get in looked like this....

We decided to stick it out and it actually was well worth it. Its big enough inside that it didn't even seem crowded and we still had such a great time. We walked to the petting zoo first and the kids loved playing with the goats. There was even a baby goat that they got so excited about!

The kids always LOVE the corn barn! They fill their shirts, socks, shoes with corn and just giggle the whole time. They were very likely the biggest kids in there and were probably having the most fun!

We rode on the tricycle track, played "guess the pumpkin", bounced on the jumping pillows, and Hudson played lots of football. They have added so many new activities this year!

Mining is the kids very favorite part of the Orr Family Farm so we always make time to buy a bag and mine to see what they got. They found all the crystals, rocks, etc and then took turns picking their favorites to take home.

Stopping at the playground on the way out, sitting in the Giant chair, and just for fun...measuring ourselves next to the pumpkins. Sure wish we had done this every year we have come!

Same team, new place, new uniforms

Hudson's soccer team decided to move from Crossings soccer league over to NOKC for a little more competition. This also meant we would need new uniforms. Bart and Sarah designed them and I love how they turned out! Cutest soccer players around. Hudson has become quite the soccer defender. He is so fast that he has blocked some big goals which is great since they still don't have goalies at this age! Love this group of boys and watching them play. 

September pics

September was a busy month...birthday for Hudson; baseball, soccer, softball, and dance starting up; and the beginning of a new school year (with both having homework now). I am thankful to only be working 3 days a week and still have plenty of time with the kids and time to get some things done! 

I had lunch with Hadley already. I think I am going to squeeze in as many of these as possible knowing that next year parents aren't quite as welcome in the middle school! I can already tell this will be an emotional year for me!

To start off our new season the coaches scheduled a parents and siblings vs the players practice. It was so much fun. The big kids got to pitch to their younger siblings and there was quite a bit of sibling rivalry. Hadley sure did cheer for Hudson though which was just so sweet. We had a lot of fun playing and it was just what the kids needed. Best part of the day....I got to show Hadley that I still have it and was able to hit a homerun! Haha. Hadley was so proud!

These early birds got ready for school with 30 minutes to spare. I guess that allows some time to ride their hover boards before school. So thankful for good moods in the morning.

Hadley and Hudson's little cousins have spent several games watching them play. It was fun to get to watch Buck play soccer now. He is really loving it!

Hudson has a sweet little friend, Jossilyn, that invited him to her birthday party. I took a picture of his card for her because I have missed several other cards. He always writes the sweetest cards for his friends. He has such a big heart!

Building lego sets in one day, softball hitting lessons, bike riding, and swimming in the hot tub. These are the days...

Gunner's 4th birthday party was a nerf war party. It was so much fun! Hudson wore our go-pro for a little of it and it was so fun hearing all his giggles in the background.

I was surprised at work with a decorated office and cookies for my birthday! I really love all these girls I work with!

Home football game with Hadley and friends. I don't have any pictures of Hudson and his friends. They are quick to run off and play football with each other. Some wrestling matches are typically involved as well.

Shawnee softball tournament. This one was so fun! We didn't have one of our best performances but the kids had so much fun. It is a really nice complex. Biggest plus...being right by the lake house and having everyone over at the end of the day. Mama and Papa cooked out for us and the kids loved riding four wheelers and playing outside. These are the softball memories I love!
